‘our info/resource space’ mayday sees the ‘official’ opening of a new space @ Giros. So far this space looks like it will incorporate resources books/zines/photos/videos on local/global activism, the Just Books Radical Book Distro, resource space with materials for creating all the props we need for the revolution, free shop (stuff for free!) & most importanly a place where we can meet to dream & scheme. The place is evolving, feel free to come along & get involved....
click on giros site for a map & details of how to get there...
Giros is heavily funded by the state! Up the revolution - you tax payers
Yip,
the Belfast Youth & Community Group (the umberella group of which Giros is a part of) recieves funding from the Arts Council Of Northern Ireland, which generally covers the rent of our premises. Otherwise the collective operates on money generated by its own activities.
In 2000 we recieved no funding from the Arts Council (due to an administrative fuck up on our part - woops)& we managed to be pretty much self sufficient. But generally it's a dam sight easier to make ends meet with the grant from the Arts Council.
any other questions?
Get in touch.
What political restrictions do GIROS have to accept to allow access to government funding?
None, we do what we want!
Is leor nod don eolach.
A hint is sufficient for the wise.
