Young men are increasingly voting for the right, while young women are increasingly voting for the left. What explains this? A Norwegian study finds that its largely due to shifting attitudes to "gender equality".

Evening Herald surreally incompetent / IMC and RTS are 'Closely Aligned'

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday April 23, 2003 22:29author by as do many other lazy journos Report this post to the editors

from the real 'Independent' Meeja - hush hush on the qt

'Closely Aligned' - Bullshit - as is the description of Indymedia as a 'Company'. Indymedia is a collective (or maybe even a swarm).

And RTS heads should take their heads out of the sand and publish a phone number for journalists to contact them - else the lazy 'embedded' journalists building things up nicely for a confrontation at the next rts will go to media attention seeking wankers like Joe Carolan, Aidan O'Brien, eampeen Crudeen, and Richie Boyd-Barrett for their take on events past present and future. They are already ringing these ppl asking if they are organisers of the anniversary May 6th Event. This is the psychological equivalent of 'the mad (red) cow roundabout'.

Remember William Martin Murphy 1913 you RTS 'organisers' you.

An Irish Speaking TV broadcasting Company is in direct contact with the RTSers for any fat lazy wanker journalists out there who prefer coke n crisps to following the money. Do y'all Fat TV(c) speak Jailge?

And the Evening Herald - 'Dr Annabel Lies' and boy do we know it around here.

Remember G8 Joe and the crack about the Hurleys from Genoa that we got from Kathy Donnaghirey.

I wouldnt lower myself to wipe my arse with any of Tony's rags never mind buy them.

What tripe does this post relate to?

And I really cant figure out what the point is with this article. Is his target RTS, IMC, the Herald, or all of the above?

Not exactly clearly written.

Did it ever occur to you that the RTS people dont necessarily WANT to talk to any of the mainstream media scum? They dont particularly want their phone number out on the street?

Why does RTS have to be contactable for mainstream media soundbites?

The will to disappearance and all that... occupy a third space - neither Tony O'Reilly nor Joe Carolan.

there was something on the front page about the guards getting cameras for demos and other crimes
it mentioned a media company closely aligned to the organizers of the rts may 6th street party.
bullshit
the guards have been using cameras at demos for ages at shannon.
secret police were filming people in galway last sunday for the dev speech.
one good thing it mentioned is that the video will be used in the district court.hopfully that will be open for all video evidence.
put some manners on Inspector Keenan and his like

yet another perfect example of why 'anarchism' is a failed movement - if anarchists are not willing to try to get their message to the general public (and yes, that means using the capitalist press, too) then what can anarchism ever be other than a small self-interested clique?

Wake up ...

Some anarchists talk to the press selectively (remember LAN, remember GNAW).

Some anarchists don't talk to the press at all.

Now back to sleep with you ...

(in the codex) is believed to have made the first mention of the RTS party, but this is still open to debate and furious academic argument, indeed many reutations have been lost on "the codex" of De Selby.

at the link provided by Australians who really enjoyed the RTS things back in London the Evening Herald will find a guide on how to do a RTS party.

At this link the reader will find an example of anarchism working to the benefit of particapatory democracy.

Now I am a RTS head, and have been for years, but I am also a IMC head, and a Nunca Mais head, and an Espai Alliberat contra la Guerra head, I am also a wooly head with a silly okupe haircut, I am also at times a media head with mobile buzzing, and I have stuck many heads in EEG machines for party entertainment.

Now if you know about the EEG parties you dopn't need to ask "how do you get invited?"
If you know about IMC, you don't need to ask "do you need business acumen and global advise?"
if you know about volunteer efficiency and anarko-collecives on the beaches of Galizia you don't say "the soldiers are better at cleaning, the anarchists are useless".
If you know about pacifism and have a handy floorplan of the visiting rooms Mr Aznar was in yesterday in London, you don't need to pose the sticky question "what were they talking about?".

The Evening Herald is a shitty paper.
always was.
always will be.
RTS is a non heirarchal non organised event and no-one not even the CIA have been able to come up with a reliable phone number.
There was one for the London group which transformed itself into Reclaim the future last year, but they didn't pay the bill and it was discontinued.

If any journalists would like to know about the 300+ RTS events that have happened since 1996, then they can phone me.
But I'd only give them a personally biased impression, and use phrases like "de Selby said, and I doth qoute..."
faling that, they could of course phone the Irish anarchists or IMC ireland, sure they're all involved.
¿....anyone got a contact for RTS Bagdad?

There was an RTS spokesperson on Newstalk this morning alongside Joe Carolan, some fanatical right winger from the chamber of commerce and a FGer. The Chamber of commerce chap was so extreme that the FGer ended up practically supporting the demonstration.

Anyway, one of the reasons why the media has problems with contacting RTS is that the media normally operates by building up a list of personal contacts, spokespeople for various movements. RTS actively tries to avoid developing figureheads as it is not a hierarchical organisation and there is nothing to be gained from the individual profile-building favoured by electoralist organisations. RTS attempts to have a multiplicity of spokespeople and no single authorative voice - the media finds this difficult to deal with as it doesn't fit into their 'contact the leader' way of doing things. We aren't going to change to suit the media's agenda, but we do try to get our voices heard when we can.

Anyway, the question of accessing the media, without letting it control you is a difficult one for any campaigning organisation. Using the existence of various different views within RTS as a means of slagging off anarchists, reeks of sectarian point scoring rather than any attempt to address the issue.

= it is idle to dread that which you can not avoid.
= I do explanations. (sua cuique voluptas)
=to each man his own pleasure...

= perhaps the Floody doesn't have time or what in Spain is called "ganas", (=enthusiasm).
=perhaps the Floody is pissed off with all the shite that passes for comentary on anarchism.

anyway RTS is always different.
different people different places
different things happening.

Ubique = Everywhere.

De Selby represented a moment of near-entity like creative work on na Gcopeleen's part.
great book the 3rd policeman.
lastnight I fould a reference to June 23rd within being the date when the bicycle was first reported to be stolen.

Wow, that was almost English! Great job. Next, you can work on adding punctuation, and forming coherent sentences out of the mad jumble of words above.

You can do it if you try!
