the Largest non-violent Demonstration for the peace ever done in Shannon Airport

12th April Demonstration "Cacerolada" in SHANNON MAMA will be next Saturday in Shannon. In this Tuesday meeting the Pacifist group of Limerick and Clare have decided to respond to the Largest non-violent Demonstration for the peace ever done in Shannon Airport that it is going to happen next 12th April. The idea that we propose is that every single person in brings a pot or a saucepan and bang it with any spoon, fork or stick or whatever can make noise. Feel free to bring anything that can make the louder sound possible (we also recommend to bring ear plugs). This idea of the "Cacerolada" has been performed with a huge success in Barcelona (Spain) were hundreds of thousands of people are going to the streets almost every weekend since the war started banging any single pot, plate, pan or casserole (here it comes the name in Spanish) to be heard

12th April Demonstration

"Cacerolada" in SHANNON

MAMA will be next Saturday in Shannon.

This idea of the "Cacerolada" has been performed with a huge success in Barcelona (Spain) were hundreds of thousands of people are going to the streets almost every weekend since the war started banging any single pot, plate, pan or casserole (here it comes the name in Spanish) to be heard by the Spanish Government.

The meeting point will be the Limerick Bus Station Entrance at 12:00

THEY WILL HEAR THE PEACE BANGING AND THEY WILL KNOW THAT THE BIGGEST MISTAKE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD IS BEEN MADE.

This International Demonstration has been call up by ALL pacifist groups around the WORLD, and all Irish pacifist groups, including IAWM, PANA, the NGO Peace Alliance and MAMA.

MAMA will not damage the roads, paint the walls or destroy any public property.

MAMA, on the contrary will do a lot of NOISE.

JOIN US!!!

This is a rather odd press release, but the strangest part is the apparent equation between the anti-war movement and the peace movement. Actually, they are not the same thing. I'm anti-war but I'm not a pacifist. Also, I have no difficulty with people painting on walls etc.

I shall have to leave limerick if this violent event procedes. I am shocked and sickened that the self-styled pacifists of MAMA are prepared to take this public threatening action which is intended to coerce the government into doing what they MAMA want.

This is a violent, anti-democratic and selfish proposal and shows the contempt that MAMA holds for the ordinary epileptics in the street.
