Park Constables attempted to prevent the group of protesters walking through Stephen's Green to Iveagh House. They said "No advertising allowed". What did they think we were advertising? Pictures of dead children! Their attempts were to no avail and the protest continued in front of Iveagh House.

I'm a very young farm boy, but I hope to make a lot of money, wear a gardai uniform and be able to beat up my wife and get off scott free, because my gardai mates will turn a blind eye.
'There's one of those damned fuddy duddy dangerous old white haired frail pensioners better beat him up quickly before he sets his budgie on me'.
It seems now even the park cops are part of Berties war effort. Why not take direct action on these bastards.
RIP UP THEIR FLOWERS!
RUIN THEIR LAWNS!
these are clearly not gardai, just wannabees
Just ignore them, dont even bother to stop and listen to what they have to say.
Who do they think they are? stopping people walking through the park just because they've anti-war stuff with them on their way to Iveagh House. Get a life Park Ranger.
I understand if there was a protest there, or if people were chanting or walking on the grass and plants. Then they can step in and object, but passing through go and shite mr.parkman!
As I said before just ignore them, if they talk to you tell them to get away and that they amount to nothing in the security business.
They are just frustrated wannabe gardai. They are like alot of bouncers, security guards and campus cops they just love the 'power'. But the thing is they have none, just politely say to them 'go away I am walking through, good day'
I remember some years ago (early nineties?) taking part in a protest walk which ended with a meeting INSIDE Stephens Green. I forget what it was about, may have been something to do with an environmental issue, or a "Third World" issue. I don't recall there being any objection or interference with our right to do so. Does anyone else remember this? Can anyone throw some light on this?
I'd like to know where in their job description it says "...in case of emergency, toe the conservative line." Surely these people have minds too. I guess sometimes it's just too scary a prospect to actually exercise their brains and decide whether or not any "protest" should be prevented. If it's unruly or disruptive then fair enough, it's probably in need of stopping, but if it's people expressing an opinion and exercising their right to speech I think it's a little beyond the remit of a park warden to censor that.
