Community Awareness campaign party

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday March 30, 2003 23:52author by wait till I get you, when i'm a grown up Report this post to the editors

The Community awareness campaign candidates will be standing in the next stormont elections. The CCA, campaigns to highlight the short sentences given to paedophiles and also inform communities about the identities, details and whereabouts of paedophile offenders in our communities. Andrea Bedell child sex abuse survivor is one of the candidates.

Jason Thompson, a survivor of child sexual abuse will be compiling a database information pack detailing the identities, details and whereabouts of Ulster's 60 convicted paedophiles to distribute to schools and community centers. Jason was inspired to waiver his right to anonynmity by Michelle Irwin the brave teenage child sexual abuse survivor who waivered the right to anonynmity for herself, to expose her paedophile uncle David Adams. David Adams a serial paedophile, sexually abused his niece when she was on holiday in the Republic, after being convicted of a catolog of horrendous offences against Michelle who was then aged 8 in the republic, David Adams transferred to a Northern irish prison, where he was released into northern irish society, where he is not required to sign the sex offenders register, having commited his offences in the republic. David Adams then lived in Belfast with his wife Donna Armstrong they have 2 children. After her husband's public exposure in the Sunday World newspaper in 2000, Donna fled to Ballynahinch with her children, who went to schools in Ballynahinch. Donna is thought to be back in Belfast. Currently there are 40 convicted paedophiles living at Dismas house on Belfast's upper ormeau rd. Amongst those who will be identified in the database are Joe Maines, the beast of Kincora, who sexually abused boys in his care for over a decade, others included in the database are a former prison officer, a former RUC officer and Gary Service a scoutsmaster who molested boys in his care, also Vincent McKenna who sexually abused his daughter in the republic, and then moved to Northern ireland where he built a new life and persona for himself as respectable pillar of society and head of the 'Save the RUC' campaign. Like David Adams, Vincent will not have to sign the sex offenders register in the north, as he abused his daughter in the south. Hopefully the database will ensure that none of these convicted paedophiles will ever be able to worm their way back into positions of trust in our communities again, to exploit children in their care.
