What the Brexit Leave vote, and Boris Johnson?s eventual triumph, seemed to in the end achieve was only the revelation of the extent to which British institutions have been hollowed out and corrupted, says David McGrogan.

Excellent news. For ALL anti-war peace activists: IRA scumbags to rot in jail.

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Thursday March 27, 2003 16:56author by Limerickman Report this post to the editors

The 3 animals that murdered Garda Jerry McCabe while robbing a post office in Co. Limerick will not be released. Anyone that believes in justice in Ireland will be happy at this news. Of course, I expect the usual crowd of brain-dead Sinn Fein/Indymedia types to be angry at this. It'll make for such funny reading.

Court rejects IRA men's early release appeal

The High Court has rejected an action by two IRA men jailed in connection with the killing of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe in Co Limerick in 1996. The court ruled that the Government is not obliged to consider whether the men should be released under the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. Michael O'Neill was one of three men convicted of manslaughter after Detective McCabe was shot dead during a botched post office raid in Adare in June 1996. John Quinn was jailed for conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the same raid.

Read the threads and you will discover that Indymedia is a commie fascist, anti semitic zionist, republican unionist, anarchist trotskyite organistion that welcomes whatever tripe you happen to feel the need to spam the newswire with. I've left out the space aliens, the togic flyers and sundry others but its sure one hell of a conspiracy.

Disappointed the comrades have not been released perhaps but importantly the Court ruled that the men are qualifying prisoners under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement. The Government has consistently refused to release them on one sole point, that they do not qualify under the Agreement. According to the Courts, the Government is wrong on this so they need to come up with another excuse or release the men.

I know the reaction people have to the release of these men but, simply, if you support the Good Friday Agreement, you support the release of these men. Anything else is merely hypocrisy.

I must admit I will not lose any sleep over these guys not getting released. Lets face it, they are murdering scumbags. I would hope the courts would impose the mandatory 40 years for murdering a garda, but unfortunately its not to be. They murdered a police officer and are now wanting to be released because they are members of an ILLEGAL organisation. By that rationale, anyone claiming to be an IRA prisoner can be released. Lets look at it logically, by claiming that they are members of the IRA they can immediately win early release from their prsion sentences, well hell, why don't we just make it so that if you want to be released, we'll just set you free. The IRA are murdering scumbags, whether it be a soldier or a pedestrian or some old woman out shopping. Its a life, I find it ironic that Indymedia one of the biggest advocates fro cessation of the war on Iraq and alos one of the biggest advocates for bringing the warmongers to justice are willing to allow these Scumbags have a pardon because an agreement was reached.

Screw em, I hope they die in Jail.

As someone who lives in the West Limerick area, where McCabe was shot, I will share with you what is quite well known out here but evidently not any where else. McCabe was not killed in a foiled bank robbery. It was a targeted assassination in retaliation for MCCabe's repeated assualt of republican suspects while in custody. He was warned to stop and didn't listen. And the news spin of the lovely family man...bollocks. Even is fellow guards said he was a bastard. Yes killing is wrong but I wouldn't shed too many tears for guards who abuse their power in this way.

Seamus, you are an idiot. And typical of the juvenile tossers that write on Indymedia.

As someone who lives near enough to the McCabe family, I can assure you that Gerry was an extremely decent bloke.

AS for the rest of what you say: complete and utter rubbish. Just excuses for republican dogs to make themselves feel less guilty about having Garda blood on their hands. The people who committed this act are cop-killing, republican scum that deserve to stay in jail (keep them in a cell with Big Bubba). I also hope they die there.

Peace process me bollix.
The way to solve everything up there was to keep everybody locked up, rotting for ever. Let's create a thousand martyrs, lets keep all the wounds open, whatever you do, avoid this reconciliation crap.

Or maybe the guards are sacrosanct in a way the RUC are not.

Maybe the south africans have it wrong as well.

Maybe deaths in the south should be avenged, while deaths in the north should be forgotten.

Cop the fuck on - release of prisoners is part of the conflict resolution. Invite the Paisleys around - you and them have the same blinkered, reactionary, destructive worldview.

They didn't murder Garda McCabe. Four are serving sentences for manslaughter and one for conspiracy to commit a robbery.

PS: indymedia moderators: I'm not sure if libel applies on the Internet, but if it does, the two boys in Castlerea could sue the shit out of ye in connection with Drbinoche's above comment.

It is true that McCabe was taken out.He was a fucking scumbag who didn,t heed his warning.I suppose you were in the interrogation rooms with him or did you see him refuse the bribes he was given?Family man my arse.As for locking up mistake prone bankrobbers,I suppose that fucking eejit of a cop who shot his mate in Dublin last year should get 40 years aswell.Thats what happens when you give a thick redneck a gun.McCauley should get a medal.

Dribnoche is a liar and an asshole who stated on Indymedia that his relation was locked up in Portlaois as a result of IRA activity. There are no PIRA prisoners in Portlaois,so your full of shit.Who told you he was locked up for that reason?Maybe your parents made that story up and your relation is really a kiddyfiddler.Thats the only reason I can think for such a bullshit statement.
