news report
Wednesday March 26, 2003 19:03 by Rembrant
Anti-war activists have spray painted the offices of Fianna Fail's Willie O'Dea and Progressive Democrat Tim O'Malley. The 'Blood On Your Hands' campaign continues. A big red SHAME was painted on the road way outside O'Dea's Farranshone office, along with "US planes out of Shannon" on the wall. Tim O'Malley's office in Dooradoyle was also visited. Showing their usual insensitivity to possible mass slaughter in Iraq we got a couple of absurd comments from them in today's Star. O'Dea told us that "It is ironic that people who say they are in favour of peace behave like this" And O'Malley waded in with "I am extremely upset for myself and for my staff who were very traumatised after this appalling incident which is a violation of my rights as a citizen of this country". Let a thousand housepainters pick up their brushes. ----- Next action at Shannon Dead Slow March for Peace Mourning the Death of Irish Neutrality and All Deaths in Iraq Next Sunday, 30th March will see a Dead Slow March for Peace taking place at Shannon Warport.(Meeting 2pm at the shopping centre). People will gather at Shannon from all over the country to express opposition to the war in Iraq and to Irish participation in it, through the use of facilities at Shannon by US military on their way to the Gulf. This will be a solemn occasion, an act of mourning for all those who have been or will be killed in this war and for the final death of Irish Neutrality. This protest has been called by the Grassroots Network Against War and is being supported by the Cork Peace Alliance. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7What is not being mentioned in the papers about the actions at the o dea and o malley constituency offices is that shrines, complete with copious pictures of the carnage wrought by this war, were erected at both places.
The Midwest Alliance against Military Aggression (MAMA) would also like to make known its support for the grassroots funereal march from shannon town to the airport this sunday.
So if the word shame upset him, next time put up a poster of one of the images of the casualties.
According to the local paper photos of Iraqi kids were put up at both offices.
These were not shown at all in the photos which showed the paint jobs only.
Traumatised? If a poster and paint can traumatise O'Malley he should try living in Southill or Moyross... or Baghdad.
Does he not consider how traumatising it is to have a cruise missile kill your children?
By the way, before any of you speculate...
I don't know who did it, and the Special Branch can confirm that I was nowhere near it.
They were outside my house all night, just like they have been all week.
and to think, Willie O'Dea said that there is "nothing secretive or furtive" going on at Shannon airport.
If that's true, why are planespotters subject to harrassment and intimidation, repeated search requests and the usual petty crap?
In the same sense that Ireland is not assisting the US/K (thanks Iosaf!) war-machine, and that Ireland is not in the coalition of the willing.
You have to be very careful with words Tim, and when the taoiseach describes something then be careful to account for the fact that his perspective is distorted by the contortions he has to go through to kneel down in front of Blair/Bush and stick his head up his arse at the same time. (Not to mention that he has a forked tongue, suffers from the gift of the gab /and/ verbal diarrhea!).
Though what people in Southill or Moyross have to put up with is nothing in comparison with the people in the open air market in Baghdad today. Of course, they can't speak for themselves for obvious reasons.
BTW did you get my message?
Dem fuckers can't hide from our righteous paint. By their marks they shall be known.
