Ramadan has begun in Londonistan. It's another sign of how Islam is encroaching on Western culture, says Tim Dieppe. It's a long time since critics of any other religion were imprisoned. But don't you dare insult Islam!

Ofcom has been hounding GB News for its 'bias' in not being uniformly Left-wing. David Craig wonders when the brave regulator will notice that Times Radio pours forth anti-Trump bile all day long and takes action there.

Occupation of Aviation Building on Burgh Quay

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday March 24, 2003 13:45author by Dublin Catholic Worker - Dublin Catholic Worker Report this post to the editors

Members of the radical pacifist Catholic Worker movement are presently occupying offices of the Aviation Building. The anti-war activists have refused to leave the building in protest at the continued use of Shannon Airport by the U.S.military. A spokesperson for the group stated: "The civilian infrastructure of the Irish aviation industry has been surrendered by the Ahern government to the U.S.war machine, a war machine that continues to unleash indiscrimminate bombardment, napalm, cluster bombs and cruise missiles on the people of Iraq. Like the train tracks that lead to the town of Auschwitz, Shannon Airport has been militarised on an assembly line of death. In the name of the children of Iraq, we call upon the Irish government to desist. We call upon the Irish people to nonviolently resist the criminal complicity of the Ahern/Harney government. Excellent News.

Does anyone know of any targets in Cork City that could be picketed or occupied besides the FF offices?

The Top Oil deport at Ringaskeddy(sp?) is where the aviation fuel going into the US warplanes at Shannon is coming from.

Also the offices of any FF TD are suitable for a 'blood on your hands' graffiti job. See http://www.indymedia.ie/cgi-bin/newswire.cgi?id=35943 for the stencil that was used on Berties office

Well done to all of those occupying the Aviation Building. More of this is needed.
Anti-war protestors occupied Fianna Fail's regional headquarters on Saturday, forcing an irate Micheal Martin to flee the scene in his government merc. But not before calling the protestors 'fascist'. So much for our cherished freedoms to protest.

Government buildings at Sullivan's Quay (includes Revenue Commissioners and FAS)

Six Fianna Fail TDs

12 Fianna Fail Councillors (9 if you exclude the double jobbers listed in the 6 above).

3 PD councillors

CSO offices (Mahon)

Haulbowline Naval Base (by sea perhaps!)

Lots of FF county councillors and Town councillors in Cobh, Midleton, Youghal, Fermoy, Mallow, Macroom, Kinsale, Bandon, Clonakilty, Skibbereen, Passage West and Bantry. Let them feel the heat too...

If people are looking for place to do actions against the war and against refuelling in Shannon, there is no shortage.

TOP have 120 filling stations around the country. They also run a large number of TOP LOndis shops.

TOP as the company that is refuelling planes at Shannon, is directly implicated in this war. Also if you do an action/ protest/ occupation at TOP you can use the opportunity to call for a Boycott of TOP so as to involve the general public in meaningful action against refuelling at Shannon.

TOP are motivated purely by profit. If a boycott hits them hard enough than they will withdraw from refuelling U.S. death machines at Shannon.
