IRSP: Out of Iraq! Out of Ireland!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 22 March 2003 Irish Republican Socialist Party Out of Iraq! Out of Ireland!
The IRSP totally condemns the illegal, immoral and unjust imperialist
war by the USA inspired alliance against the people of Iraq. This is
an imperialist war waged for both strategic and material interests.
It is about oil. It is about saving Saudi Arabia and OPEC from
falling under the control of Muslim fundamentalists. It is about
carving up huge chunks of the Middle East for British and USA
economic interests. Forget talk about just war. Forget talk about a
brutal dictatorship. Imperialist interests fostered and nurtured the
likes of Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden. They trained, armed and
encouraged these people to carry out acts that were in the interests
of the imperialists.
War is a direct product of the capitalist system. In the vicious
pursuit of profit, Corporate America is prepared to stage war, cause
untold death, create ethnic divisions and turn continent against
continent. There can be no question of republican socialists or
anyone else not taking sides in the war now been waged. The IRSP are
on the side of the Iraqi masses, support the overthrow of Saddam by
the Iraqi masses and call for the creation of a world wide anti-war
movement that will boot Blair and Bush from office.
Unlike a spokesperson for the Northern Committee of the Irish
Congress of Trade Unions on Radio Ulster, the IRSP does not support
the troops. Those are not "our boys" in the desert! Those soldiers
are the agents of imperialism, the same imperialism that brought so
much destruction and division to Ireland.
What can be done in Ireland? Take to the streets! Turn the struggle
against the war into a struggle against the collaborationist regime
in the South. In the North, while the war lasts, the IRSP call on
Sinn Fein, the SDLP, the Women's Coalition and any other so called
progressive forces to refuse to meet with any representatives of the
British imperialist government while the imperialist occupation of
Iraq continues. Nor should they meet with any representatives of the
USA administration. Tell Bush and Blair to go take a hike. Is the
restoration of Stormont reason enough to collaborate with imperialist
warmongers? It is nothing compared to the sufferings of the Iraqi
people.
The IRSP say:
Stop the war!
Stuff Stormont!
Yankee and British imperialists out of Ireland and Iraq!

Irish-American capitalists have succeeded in assimilating Sinn Fein fully into the Anglo-American imperial axis. Calling on Sinn Fein to do this, that etc. is futile. Whats needed is to expose them as imperialist collaborators.
Now theres a demand I agree with, but i didn't know you guys were in Iraq too.
What are youse hopin that a Vietnam situation will develop and then you'll be able to sell smack to US troops?
Yeah why do some IRSP members pour smack into working class areas - some way to liberate the workers lads.
These boys are in no way socialist ignore them
This canard is wheeled out time after time. The IRSM fight drug pushers.
Yeah drug pushers who aren't on your payroll or linked to your thugs. Grow up lads the INLA/IRSP have a long record of drug involvement and pushing smack into working class areas to feed the INLA's "Campaign of violence."
Now that the INLA is under a "ceasefire" some of its "hardmen" strictly deal in drugs and crime. Running estates like they own them, having their finger in every underworld dealing. They have interests in some Drug dealers i.e. they give them some of their profits, if they don't then their in some trouble. Face it your all a bunch of degenerate criminals who have nothing to do with socialism or nationalism.
Not even the cops accuse the IRSM of this.
