Labour and Greeens insult oppressed minorites

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday March 23, 2003 19:22author by Kalid Faroukauthor email irishkurd at hotmail dot com Report this post to the editors

Labour and Greeens insult oppressed minorites in neo colonial world by not voting for resolution calling for self determination for the Kurdish people.

I think it shoud also be registered that the Green Party and Labour did not vote for an amendment to a resolution in the Dáil last week that called for self determination for the Kurdish people.

They claimed that they wished to see the 'territorial integrity' of Iraq to continue. Iraq is a state whose borders, like most states in the middle east, were arbitarilly drawn up to suit the imperial interests of the major powers in the 19th century. To call for the retention of these boundaries is a disgrace and an insult to the Kurdish people and the oppressed minorities in Iraq and the middle east. The amendment was defeated.

Fuck off, troll. most of the Dail voted against the resolution but you want to give out against the greens because they abstaned. If you had ur priorities right you would at least mention those that voted against it.

The only people who voted for the amendment were Sinn Fein, the Socialist Party and some of the independents.

Khalid has every right to criticise those parties which take part in the anti-war movement and who therefore we might expect better from.

Personally I wouldn't have expected anything better from either. Labour nowadays is little different from Fianna Fail and that Green TD outside the Dail on day X lost them a lot the sympathy from me which people like Dubsky and some other activists had earned them.

The Iraqi Kurdish region has been piling awayquietly with its own homerule now the last few years, but it imposible to get into the region because the Syrians, turks and Iraqis will generally not let journalists enter the area.

A few days ago some eejits felt the murder of Zoran Djindic was a good thing. Humans, left or right wing, are stupid, and tend to ensure they view the world through black and white so as to feel comfortable ansd secure, because their minds are unable to take the plethora of contradictions that is the real world. So, freedom for Kurdistan, Palestine, and atheists in America...

I am not a 'troll'. I have a right to critisise the Green and Labour parties stance on this question, we are meant to live in a democracy. The reason I pointed out these parties is because both these parties have been involved in the anti war marches and some may think that these parties are for the freedom of the Kurdish people. They are not and I think I am correct to raise it. I complement the Socialist Party, Sinn Fein and some of the independents for voting for the resolution.

Zoran Djindic met the only fitting fate for traitors who betray their people and country to the USA and england.
