If your 'easy as 1,2,3' methods were followed the last people to be effected would be the corporate clowns and bush's. the first casualties would be thousands upon thousands maybe millions of workers - losing their jobs. people with families to support - people with lives to lead, some who share your opinion, some who dont.
would you have a solution to stop the evictions?
Its only slight less isolationist and blind than 'freedom fries'
Cows in ireland get a subsidy of more than E2 per day - more than the majority of the humans on the planet earn - no blood for jobs and fuck you above commenter
max, there you are again.
the only Position you should be worried about is the one i will have to restrain you in to get the Slamafram down an oriface.
Now if you go back to your room I will give you a copy of the Position of the Government by Max.
as an american anti-war activist, i encourage a boycott of american products. i myself, and most of my fellow activists, boycott almost all corporate products as a regular way of life. one of the only weaknesses of the hyper capitalist global exploitation system is the power of the people to choose alternatives, or choose to not consume much, period. we buy almost all of our food from local farmers, we get all of our clothes from second-hand stores, we ride old bikes that we fix up. the large exploitive corporations exist simply because we buy their crap, so we simply choose to opt-out, to withdraw our support. as for hurting the average working class american, so be it. it will force people to work for or create businesses that are sustainable, fair, and respectful of life on this planet. a nike manager who markets nike shoes lives a comfortable life, while the 14 year-old girl who makes the shoes in some 3rd world nation toils for 14 hours a day under threat of beating. we no longer accept the lies of the nike manager who claims, "i am only trying to make a living and feed my family". time to go into a different line of work.
bring the boycott on, and help us challenge this murderous government and its corporate supporters!
Im taking the point now undertaken by the leading aid agencies etc. The way to influence is to not put more peoples lives in jeopardy. Thats what will happen. no human should be a barganing chip for anybody's agenda, ever.
This no blood for jobs call rings hollow for me now because no matter how non-corporate compliant you are your involved. From the shirt on your back to the breakfast you ate this morning your tied up in the 'blood' network. Unless you grow your own or go 'bio-regional', make your own clothes and dont consume any products whatsoever your economic ties to the world are set. you have blood on your hands.
I would love to see a structures of self sufficiency and bio-regionalism but there not here anymore (i live as close to these ideals as possible by growing vegtables, herbs, buying local, buying fairtrade etc.). Look around at the stuff you own PC included and tell me that your any way near self sufficient. Its all well and good putting other peoples lives at risk when its not your own or your mothers et. and when you live in a cusioned system where the nanny state will pay your way. Pay your way with tax money that is also dirtied with blood, it has to be said.
You have to think your actions out a bit better bring them forward so they can help as many people as possible and not just you. boycotting to me sounds isolationist, which is a bad thing.
BP (British Petroleum) is hardly an alternative if people want to boycott petrol / oil from the warmonger nations.
The following should be boycotted:-
Texaco
Esso
Shell
BP
TOP (for refuelling at Shannon)
Instead try these:
Statoil
Mobil
Emo
Estuary
Amber
Boycott of US products has been gaining momentum for the past few years, just look at McDonalds and the lengths they go to to get you in to their 'restaraunts'. They are on the run, their greasy fat-squelching food is losing popularity and restaraunts are closing world wide.
