Irelands troops on front line

AROUND 1,000 of the 40,000 British service personnel in Kuwait are from regiments that have direct links to Northern Ireland.
More than half of the 650-strong first battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment, which is part of 16 Air Assault Brigade, come from the province.
Around 80 of the battalion's soldiers are from the Republic.
The brigade also contains around 80 Royal Irish Rangers (Territorial Army) volunteers from Northern Ireland.
And approximately 300 troops from the Irish Guards are serving with part of 7 Armoured Brigade.
Both brigades come within 1 (UK) Armoured Division.
An unknown number of Ulster folk are serving with other branches of the armed forces, including the RAF, the Royal Navy, the Parachute Regiment and the Royal Marines.

They've sent DUP member Jeffrey Donaldson's brother on ahead to kill off the Iraqis with his horrible singing.

1)They're not irish, they're Royal Irish, get that straight, they swear allegigance to our noble Brit Queen and Crown.
2) These men, know their place, they respect their social better officers, and will die protecting their superiors.
3)We're mainly from staunch loyalist squaddie backgrounds, from such loyal communities, as Newtonards, Bangor, east belfast and areas of the shankill.
4)With centuries of loyal service to the British crown, soldiering is a loyal family tradition.
5)DUP member Jeffrey Donaldson's brother is a brave officer in the paras. Crooning to keep soldiers moral up, while on active service.

with me. This war is great, it's brilliant, hey soldier boy, whilst you're away playing soldiers in the desert. I'm making love to your wife. Don't hurry home, just take comfort in that romantic drivel you're spouting.

I remember in September,
When the final stumps were drawn,
And the shouts of crowds now silent
And the boys to tea were gone.
Let us, oh Lord above us,
Still remember simple things,
When all are dead who love us,
Oh the Captains and the Kings,
When all are dead who love us,
Oh the Captains and the Kings.

Far away in dear old Cyprus,
Or in Kenya’s dusty land,
Where all bear the white man’s burden
In many a strange land.
As we look across our shoulder
In West Belfast the school bell rings,
And we sigh for dear old England,
And the Captains and the Kings.

I wandered in a nightmare
All around Great Windsor Park,
And what did you think I found there
As I stumbled in the dark?
It was an apple half-bitten,
And sweetest of all things,
Five baby teeth had written
Of the Captains and the Kings.

Only Germans and other inferior races commit war crimes ....
Anglo-Americans do the decent thing, old sport .....

Well as far as I recall from the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal, the claim that one was "only following orders" is not recognised as mitigating responsibility inasmuch as participation in war crimes is concerned ......

Soldiers follow orders issued by the civilian Government.

If you have a problem with them being deployed, don't spit on the troops - apart from it not being terribly healthy for you, it's totally misplaced. Remember, they're getting shot at because of a political decision.

Go throw paint at a politician instead, it's more effective anyway.

Paddy. I have to say you are worse than scum. You say you hope they die slowly. Well it just shows your intelligence and stupidity. You are so hard, while you sit here and wish death upon soldiers just doing their duty. Id love to see you in a warzone, but then again you are probably too busy sitting at home with all your comforts fighting for things you know NOTHING about.

Grow up
