Good you were here but you will need a bit more tranning. i don't mena to offend anyone but your team should be bigger. We, the BMC will try to come as often as possible to Dublin whenever and we can share the footages. But you should definitely be more numerous and have a runner and a second camera.
Good job anyway and good luck for the rest.
yours for the black and red revolution,
Black Cat
Better organised? we had about 6 video cameras a a load of still photopraphers as well as a least 3 audio heads. maybe you should have come to the meetings? all media welcome, hopefully next time we will all be more organised.
Great day Enjoyed the party
Shame about the Blue Bloc
There were actually lots of videocams. Hard time filming with events as they were. Are u the guys trying to get a geurillavision thing together. Wee John told me a little about it yesterday.
Let us know we're you're next in Dublin, we should meet discuss y'know stuff. We're looking for reports from anything happening in Belfast. Text Video and Audio, as well as stills.
I disagree with this footage...did not show the full story. Very biased ! Very Staged !
Please improve on what the hell ye are doing.
Thanks.
What i'm amazed at is if your so against corporations or whatever it is you want to walk the streets for - then how come your website is sponsored by a bank daithi? hypocrite? I think so!
Quite simply, there has to be a certain pragmatism - I may have political views but I'm responsible for a student activity that includes almost two hundred participants.
Would it not be reprehensible of me to use my idealogical views to prevent those students from having their radio station? I work with Indymedia because I believe in independent, non-corporate, free media. And I work with Trinity FM because I love radio, and getting other people involved in it while they're at college.
I would prefer if it was fully funded by content-neutral contributors but until then we have to make practical decisions in order to purchase and hire quite expensive broadcasting equipment.
To aidan et al,
I wish to congratulate you all on your bravery and conviction. I have been a fan of the site for months now. The way in which you reported and articulated the events of last monday was excellent. Unfortunately, i missed the late late show on friday, however aidans input and sincerity was highly praised by my 60 year old parents......proof that honesty and integrity can bridge the gap.
Cheers
zacorr
Sorry, there was nothing brave here.
These people love to blame everything on a conspiracy - it doesn't exist.
They were told to move on by the gards and they didn't - and as an earlier poster stated, these pictures tell only one side of the story.
Sorry, there is very little 'indy' in indymedia. Me thinks you are just apologists and propagandists for the people that wanted to bring mayhem to the streets of Dublin.
I've spokenn to several gards who were there on the day and even they give a more balanced account than what I've read here.
Me thinks indymedia protesteth too much.
We never said we were brave.....
the Gardaí right to move people or journalists does not permit the use of force againist people behaving peacefully. At no point did we shout or shove Gardaí, we merely politely stood our ground. The Gardaí grabbed me while I was walking away, So I was obeying them, yet they saw fit to stop me from filming by force.
I'm sure the Gardaí gave a "fair" and "accurate" description of what occured.
As for mayhem to the streets.
Dozens hosipitalised, passerbys assaulted, and no property damaged (aside from some minor pieces of graffiti) and no passberys alledging assaults by protestors.
Mayhem was brought to the streets but not by RTS.
Hi, I'm an italian anarchist.
How is the anarchist movement in Ireland?
The repression is high like in Italy?
How much are you?
I'm in the italian federation (also in IFA)because I think that the revolution must be taken organised and united.
Are you a "black Blocker" ?
AGAINST THE STATE, FOR THE REVOLUTION
Just to clarify a few points
Firstly this sequence was not staged. I had moved clear of the Gardai when my collegues were pulled from the crowd and took these photos from behind a line of Gardai. A number of other photos did not come out due to Gardai blocking the lens to hid what was happening.
Secondly I am no conspiritist, I released all the photos I could, including the incidents with the car and the orange flare elsewhere on this site.
Thirdly I work for a living as a public servant so can hardly be described as being friendly to the demonstrators anymore than the Gardai.
The only thing I attempted to do that Monday was to record as accurately as possible what was happening from all side. So keep you comments to yourself about my motives Rene.
