80 Irish on front line

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday March 19, 2003 22:17author by Mickey Joe My Lovely Horse Report this post to the editors

RIR moved to front line

The Royal Irish Regiment has been moved towards the front line this evening on the Kuwait/Iraq border (source: UTV). Over 80 members of the unit are men from the Republic of Ireland. Lets hope they all return home to Ireland safe and sound in a few weeks. Its good to see some of our fellow citizens defend our freedom.

Yes, unlike the Republic's own army and government, which, as in WWII, is sitting on the fence.

let's hope they get home safely, lets hope they don't kill anybody while they're away.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

What? Defend our freedom to use cheap oil? defend our freedom to follow the US?

God, trolls suck.

Here in the Republic, we can just relax: we know perfectly well that the US and the Brits will do all the thinking and the dirty work for us, to keep us secure and free, like they did in WWII. Then we can just sit back, get all sanctimonious and witter on and on endlessly about high moral principles and neutrality.

Our government will indeed do exactly as he says. However, the rest of us can do something, by campaigning for the defeat of the American Empire.

One of Dubya's greatest achievements is that he has simplified all issues in foreign politics. There is now only one important question: how we can tame the USA and stop it from removing our freedom, stealing our property and killing us at will, whether directly or through its provincial governments (as in Ireland).

Osama bin Laden may believe that it is necessary to use violence to overcome American violence, but I prefer to hope that we can civilise the western Huns. A new Dark Age is coming, but Ireland saved civilisation before and perhaps we can do it again.

Thanks for defending our freedom you bunch of morons. Get me one em towel heads while you're at it. And as for dirty work, yeah I really think that without all that stuff we would be fucked.
You idiots should fucking wake up! Thanking Irish soldiers for bearing the white man's burden to civilise the uncivilised, to bring the message of our so called democracy and imposing our western value sytem and of course freeing their markets from state controlled mayhem to suit neo liberal agendas. I will thank the Irish soldiers when they do something useful. Like turn on their masters. Harney would probably need a couple of bullets to get through the fat bitch. Time to see some heads on sticks and I'm not talking about the Iraqis Mr. Ahern....

If they are stupid enought to
- join the army
- join the English army
- goto Iraq
- get killed.

who cares. Why should I care that they are "Irish".Does this mean they are better then Iraqis ? Why should these tossers survive and Iraqi soldiers not ? Fuck them.......

Stop talking shite, you're the blinkered towel head, none of the soldiers in the royal irish are actually irish, they're golden boy brit lovers, who would betray Ireland, by joining a regiment of Brit soldiers, who pledge allegiance to noone but the Brit Queen and Crown. So what if the brits want to sacrifice them by putting them first in line. They're responsible for their own stupidity.

author by General Gordon kerrpublication date Thu Mar 20, 2003 12:16author address author phone Report this post to the editors

I think yes they should be first into the battlefields, deserts and on the frontline, afterall they are only the Royal irish, wouldn't want to sacrifice our valuable Brit soldiers.

It would an awful and terrible to waste Brit soldiers needlessly, so its good to send the Royal irish in first.

They're not Irish according to your fascistic, tribal definition of Irish. Not everyone in this island, even south of the border, thinks like you or is as narrow-minded and intolerant. Good thing too.

Why in this day and age does Brit have to equal anti-Irish, why does Irish have to equal anti-Brit. Get yourselves deprogrammed! It's not 1916 anymore.

author by T Dillonpublication date Thu Mar 20, 2003 13:30author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Reminds me of the poor Irish bastards that the Brits marched into the mud holes in France in 1914 in that other "war to end all wars".

Most of the pro war mob here obviously didn't too too well in their leaving cert history.

Violence begets more violence as even the dumbest of you here should have learned by this stage.
