GALWAY TO SHANNON 3 DAY PEACE WALK

Hello to everybody,

JOIN THE PILGRIMAGE FOR PEACE

First of all we would like to make clear that this is a spontaneous and symbolic act for witness to express our hopes, fears and frustrations.
We are doing it in "OUR NAME" and for global dignity and social justice.
We are a group of independent individuals, frustrated at the race to war which will bring enormous suffering and loss of life.

The pilgrimage will start on Friday 21st at 10 a.m. at Eire Square in Galway City and we hope to arrive at Shannon Airport by Sunday 23th at
4 p.m.
We are arranging places to sleep and trying to get local people involved from Gort and Enis who will be happy to support the walkers along the way.

We are also running out of time, so any ideas will be more than welcomed.

Prayer doe not work, it is at best a waste of time.

We will stop this war throught mobilising workers and taking strike action.

Why spend time praying when you can be down in the nearest factory talking to workers and building for Day X

This is not a religious crap.
If you were reading properly you could noticed that.
I'm very sorry about the misunderstanding, but I want to make sure that anybody else will be thinking like you.
We are just normal people like you, you will be surprise.
And Why are you so negative?,I don't want to know!
Just to let everybody else know that we have use the word pilgrimage without any religious commitments behind.
We think that the word pilgrimage can be use for this walk because is a long walk, and we will be sleeping along the way.
Thanks, we don't need any more judgements, what everybody needs is more respect and the more actions are taken, the better.

The word pilgrimage is a religious word. It is quite clear that this will be a religious 'walk'. And if it is not why have you advertised it as such?

Even if you are not going to be 'praying' on the 'walk' whay are you wasting your time with this?

The fact is that if we are to stop this war we have to hit these imperialists where it hurts them, in their pockets. Organise a strike in your workplace for Day X. That will be far more effective.

Out of interst have SF been involved in this? I am not saying that you are a SF cover group, I am just trying to gauge the level of activity of SF against this war.

If we can't be supportive of each others efforts, can we be at least tolerant of them? Abusive interventions undermine the anti-war movement.

Surely religious mystics also ruin the anti war movement. There are sharp difference in the IAWM you can't just paper over them.

The word "pilgrimage"is understood by us in its broadest sense, as a journey charged with symbolic meaning. Our journey is not perceived as a religious one, although neither do we seek to discourage people from joining us out of spiritual motives.

This is not the time for quibbling over words. Everyone to Shannon!
