While surfing the net for news of anti-war protests in other countries I found a letter, dated December 10th, signed by (amongst others) Lyndsey German of the British Socialist Workers Party. While surfing the net for news of anti-war protests in other countries I found a letter, dated December 10th, signed by (amongst others) Lyndsey German of the British Socialist Workers Party. It called on Tony Blair to "give an explicit undertaking not to engeage in military action against Iraq without the explicit authority of the United Nations and without an explicit decision of the House of Commons to do so". Does this mean that a UN sanctioned war is ok? Will the Irish SWP be arguing this at IAWM meetings? Or do the SWP just tell people whatever they think we want to hear? Maybe someone can clarify. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7The SWP are unprincipled oppurtunists. They will say whatever people want to hear so they can sell more copies of thier 'paper/rag'. They are more interested in getting respect from fluffs in the Greens and the Labour Party than building the workers movement.
so tell wihat socialist organistion is better then the swp
what exactly is the problem people have with the swp, of all the comments on this site I've never seen a good reason just riveraly(sp?)
yet again another swp-basher, cant we all just get along?, this continous points scoring is getting sickening get out of the iawm if you are going to start sniping at your allies...
Unless you can provide a direct link i.e. URL then I can only take this to be a troll.

Despite all the "why are you so mean" comments above, this article makes a serious point.
The chief "anti-war" person in the British SWP put her name to a letter calling on Blair to let the UN decide what action is necessary against Iraq.
Thats a fucking disgrace.
the swp are not socialists, they are trotskyists. look at their fake 10 minute anti war work stoppage for example!
