International women's day:

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Saturday March 08, 2003 14:56author by Lisa Report this post to the editors

are we accepting this?

isn't it time to take action against capitalists making money from women's bodies?

In Ireland, today; the 8th of March 2003, there are stripclub owners making money from employing women to expose their bodies.

The pragmatist writes: "It is natural for men and women to be attracted to each others bodies or else we wouldn't reproduce our selves".
I am not against sex, I am against that people are being used for others' needs. Porn and stripclubs teaches men to be turned on by demeaning women. Everyone is affected by for example telivision ads, however subconsciously, so why wouldn't porn affect us?
It affects men to think that women are there to satisfy the men's needs, it makes them think that women likes being used and that we it are turned on by being called slut, for example.
Porn affect women by making us believe that we have to be sxey objects and that our sexuality is there to satisfy men.Porn affects all women that lives with men that in some way or another uses it. Porn usising men are amongst executives, politicians and others who have a lot of influence over our lives. Their view of women affests us.
When it comes to the women in the business, I do not think it is strange that after all their lives having been approved of mainly through their bodies they don't see the selfdescructive aspect of being degraded and used in these ways.
those who work in rape crisis centers know that porn has a direst link with a lot of rapes and abuse of women.

i think the point of why stripping is bad for women is cuz it makes people feel bad about themselves, and so they end up having to be drunk or high to go to work and feel insecure cuz so much of their life is about sex. which in this day and age is still quite a negative thing for women. you're a sult, you're a sult, you're a slut. hear that all day either from yr own head, other people, the media, religion, history etc. u end up hating yrself and what u do. its a very exceptional case if a woman likes dancing and stripping for huge amounts of usually ugly abusive leery strangers. the point of reproduction is that u like someone, that you think they're nice personality, smart, good looking and healthy. thats what i look for in anyone cuz yr body knows they'll make a good father. guys who go to strip clubs seem to be rarely those things, or at least would hardly ever exhibit those characteristics when they're there. and then think how gross u feel when u know someone u really dont like really likes u, and think of that happening 50 times everynight. and then realise that the people u do love or respect might not respect u becuz of what u do. that sucks. i'd hate to be a full time stripper, i'd spend all my money on drugs and shopping to make myself feel better, then god forbid i get old and cant work anymore cuz i'm ugly (what a nice reason to have to stop) then i have to deal with the mental crap and somehow deal with all this money i have from stripping (yeah right, when did u ever hear of a rich ex stripper).
stripping is mentally destructive for both the people stripping and the ones watching. one night stands are mentally destructiive, pronography is mentally destructive and often the result of abuse.
having sex with someone u love and that u'd like to have children with is beautiful and positive. but theres no quick fixes, same way as u'd love a gormet meal, but theres no good resturants and u dont have much money, u can have a mcdonalds or a bad sandwich, yr not hungry anymore but u dont feel good about it.

Look, the women who dance in strip clubs earn loads of money. They usually make 500 a week and thats set rate for 4 days work. They also get huge tips from drunken businessmen and women.

This is not like prostitution where they are forced into it to feed a drug habit. Dancers must be very fit and attractive and their are laws regarding strip clubs so they are treated very well.

It is natural for men and women to be attracted to each others bodies or else we wouldn't reproduce our selves.

Women's day is about celevrating woman hoodand drawing attention to the injustics that women suffer.

Getting highly paid doing a job for 4 days a week that keeps your figure trim and means you'll be able to retire early is not exploitation.

This is typical femininst nonsense. Please be realistic.
