JABALYA, Gaza Strip, March 6, 2003 (IPC+Agencies)—11 Palestinian civilians were killed and 140 others wounded late at yesterday night in the northern Gaza Strip densely-populated refugee camp of Jabalya, as Israeli occupation forces (IOF) once again perpetrated a massacre in the camp, using tanks and combat helicopters

Palestinian hospital officials at local Palestinian hospitals in the northern part of Gaza Strip, said they received dead bodies of 11 Palestinian civilians and scores of wounded others.

The officials told our correspondent that most of the dead Palestinians sustained heavy live Israeli bullets, apparently from helicopters gunship and tanks.

A number of the wounded had critical injuries, while the rest of others sustained different kinds of injuries, including moderate and light, after being shot with tank shells fired by the invading Israeli tanks.

Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip announced that local hospitals are in need for more blood units due to the huge number of wounded inflicted by the Israeli random and indiscriminate fire against a crowd of people in the Jabalya refugee camp.

A ministry’s statement called on Palestinians to donate blood in local clinics and blood banks to meet shortage of blood due to the large number of wounded.

Dozens of Israeli occupation tanks and armored vehicles, backed with Apache combat helicopters, invaded late at Wednesday night, the Jabalya camp, Palestinian security sources told WAFA News Agency.

The sources said that the invading Israeli tanks rolled out of the nearby illegitimate Jewish settlement of Eli Sinai and stationed in different parts of the Jabalya camp, mainly in the Camp’s local market, under a barrage of heavy tank and helicopter fire.

Eyewitnesses said the Israeli forces shelled heavily several Palestinian-owned houses, shops along with a local mosque, causing a state of panic among Palestinian men, women and children.

Eyewitnesses added that the Israeli helicopter fire set into flames a three-storey Palestinian-owned house, then crowds of Palestinian civilians along with the Palestinian Civil Defense rescue team rushed to the place to extinguish the fire and rescue the house’s inhabitants.

“ while all are engaged in the fire fight and rescue of civilians, an Israeli tank aimed at the crowds, firing two shells, causing the fatal death of a number of civilians and injury of at least 100 others”, Ahmad 24, a local Palestinian resident said.

Ahmad added that the victims of the Israeli tank shooting fell like sheep in the street. They were bleeding severely as Israeli occupation troops were barring access of Palestinian paramedics and ambulances into the scene.

The said Palestinian victims of Israeli troops invasion of the such a densely-populated refugee camp comes a couple of days after the Israeli tanks and helicopters killed 8 Palestinian civilians and wounded 40 others in the middle Gaza Strip refugee camp of Al-Buraij.

Several international bodies including Washington condemned Monday the Israeli killing of Palestinian civilians in Al-buraij and other Palestinian cities, towns and refugee camps.

Avi,

you crop up like a bad penny. Let people judge for themselves. Are you part of some rapid rebuttal unit or what? Why are you so afraid that people might make up their own minds about what is going on in Palestine? Something to hide perhaps??

Do you deny that Israel is busy carrying out horrendous human rights abuses against the Palestinians?

(No I don't like Yasser Arafat etc., but the actions of the Israeli State should be a source of shame and horror to all humans and especially to Israelis).

B.t.w. Avi, what do you think of the arguments in "Fateful Triangle"?

I note with interest Avi, that you cannot offer a coherent response to the latest Zionist crime committed against the Palestinian people. That does not surprise me given the fact that the Zionist project was launched with numerous massacres perpetrated against Palestinian communities. The most notorious being Deir Yassin (over 100 hundred men, women and children) and 53 orphaned children dumped by the Zionist murderers on a Jerusalem street. Ironically the site of the crime is not far from the Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem. The Zionist war crimes have continued to the present day, the Gaza massacre is horrific but is nothing new; you may remember Tantura, Sabra-Shatila, Qana and Jenin. The Nazis would be proud of you. As regards Haifa, I believe that suicide attacks are counter productive and wrong in that they drive working people in Israel in the arms of Sharon and co. Having said that, if I found that my family had being buried under the ruins of their house in Jenin, or murdered in Gaza, then I might not be very rational either. Finally, Avi you are NOT up to the standard of Hitler's propaganda minister.

Israel's attacks on it's own citizens demotes it to the status of a rogue state. The way to fight terrorism is not to retaliate in kind.

Israel should be shunned internationally until it changes it's policies towards Palestinians.

Is this the same Seanin that was slagging the guys that got arrested for waering peace t shirts in a mall? Ok, so you do have a conscience. Fair play, I was wrong to assume otherwise...

Avi, do you think it is good for rockets to be fired into civilian areas because of the actions of one suicide bomber? Do you feel it is anti semitic for people to be repulsed by such behaviour?

My analysis; 21st century of war. Result; 50/50

50; With a third of humanity wiped out, a corporate paradise will be established on earth, the planet looking like a grand macrocosm of the I.F.C beside the customs house in Dublin. Electronic voting will ensure corporate parties will always rule. Drugs will be put into the water of working class areas to make people stupid and obedient. Art and literature will be hobbies that no one takes seriously. Israel will lead the middle east, having greatly expanded it's borders, the rst of the middle east a radioctive hole, just like Judge Dread's Mega city on and the cursed earth.

Trade unions will be a joke, sorry, they won't exist, and sound frequencies on the radio
will be greatly enhanced so as to put people's brains into Alpha mode.

Hey, we are half way there. Thanks Israel, Bush, and Bertie. Everyday I wake up I am depressed. I know too much. Ignorance is bliss.

Other 50; The whole of earth a cess pit by end of 21st century. Bush's succesors and mates all live on a space shuttle, living the corporate, laissez faire dream, in the pods. Evryone else on Earth looks like a mutants, even working class Israelis and Palestinians. But Sharon's grand children are lucky, they have been given Mars to irrigate and bulid the New Jerusalem on...

Hip hip horray, the world is today a great place thanks to Bush's strategy of not appeasing terrorists...
