We're all doomed!

lifted from newworlddisorder.ca

Very accurate rant from otherwise paranoid, druggie, magick type, online journal; I actually was thinking this morning about what the guy covers here...

...(it is still me, article will begin after my short intro) I remember the mid to late ninties, it was unreal, by 2000 I was fopping about on some art course, and delivering furniture to make ends meet, and getting dirty looks off people way stupider than I could ever be, because they had some I.T job.

Well, now people are shit scared. Good, because I hate people. The only thing left for us to do is learn survival skills, because I reckon all them midgets in the Dail (politician are always small, look at that bitch Bertie. I met Dempsey another time, five foot four little fuckwit) will have underground bases for themselves, while we all die from Anthrax poisoning. Anyway, enjoy the article...:0)

PS; The only reason we have the dole in this country is our government could not afford the defence/security budget it would take to defend the Galway races elite from poor street urchins!

Generation U
By Jason Lubyk

This isn't the mid-to-late 90's, which was like some fun-house-mirror sixties, where kids dropped out of school and tuned into the rhythms of the IPO/internet-start-up/day-trader New Economy instead of the rhythms of the universe, where revolutionaries read George Gilder instead of Che Guevara, hallucinating Fortune magazine glossy visions of desktop utopias where work is a playhouse and all are watched over by the computers of loving NASDAQ. Self-loathing grunge death rockers had burned out and faded away, replaced by lip synching sex robots too beautiful and vacant unable to even think of hating themselves and wanting to die. The digital Singularity humanity was evolving towards was easy to see, getting there as predictable as Moore's Law.

After a few heady years some cracks in the new paradigm began to appear, hinting that all was not quite right in info-age: the surprising comeback of the disaffected masses in Seattle, the NASDAQ crashing harder than Robert Downey in police custody and the shifty military dictator antics of Bush Coup 2000.

That idea something new and strange was developing was easy to ignore; just cut back on the espressos, get some more zzz's and the paranoid thoughts should go away.

When planes hijacked by young men dreaming of fleshly paradise flew into the symbols of American military and financial dominance on 9/11 the realization that everything has changed and a new zeitgeist was upon us was as impossible to ignore as the images of death and destruction being psychically driven into your mind.

Now your everyday life is more like some direct-to-Christian video store adaptation of the Book of Revelations than an episode of Friends: anthrax has usurped your credit card bill as the scariest thing that might appear in your mailbox, ponzi-economies implode, non-linear wars explode, and America becomes an EMPIRE, the Empire that WSJ editor Max Boot calls an attractive Empire, the one that everyone wants to join, until you're inside it of course, and youíre getting a little spooked out with all the talk of microchip implants, the blatant suspension of civil liberties and the Bush Youth volunteer citizen corps that are monitoring the black Marxist professor on your block. The fact that clones are being born every week and that the world is getting so hot that the polar ice caps are melting faster than Michael Jackson's face almost seems like small beer when your wondering when WW3 is going to begin.

No one gives a flying fuck about the revolutionary potential of motor scooters anymore.

So itís natural that the youth culture will also change. Generation X has finally got its shit together and become their parents with nose rings and a bag of grass, and the frosted hair, breast implants and cell phones of marketing construct generation Y seems empty and irrelevant as the Oscars.

The exact details at this point are impossible to predict, but I do know that recession instead of boom-times and war instead of peace will spawn a new generation thatís edgier, darker and more paranoid, but also more intelligent and street wise, looking more like the Dickensian street whelps that coalesce in art neighborhoods and the center of every city than soap opera actors.

So get your quarters ready; soon Generation Urchin is going to be everywhere."

"i was actually thinking about this this morning".
well and honestly dont remember who said it first but I agree generally "if you notice the fnords it is ok".
For the benefit of those who dont know a fnord from a fjörd a fnord is the sort of way you imagine a fjörd being made.
´tis all nodology.
Kathy Acker thought so too. she just put it with loads of F.

Back in the 90s I remember working out on the back of a café napkin that the three hundred thousand on the dole was an essential requirement for the Irish state to exist. It always struck me how carefully balanced the Earning sector of the population was with the dole/pension/grant/school vast majority.
Weird thing is that the "celtic tiger" celebratation of "Union" with € by disturbing that fine balance (which obliged emmigration) began that period when the illegitamcy of the Irish State would become inwardly apparant. Rather than seeming to be a distortion of the "british problem".
fnords got me ages ago.

"If you dont see the Fnord, it cant eat you"

Is true, really, I was reminiscing about the good old days when people were campaigning for things (like social justice and fairness) even when trying to stop things like the IMF and World Bank and the Cold War was a distant memory. Now a worldwide military threat is back with us and we have to campaign against something that looks like it's already started. Yet, alas, much of what I've seen here in the past few days is petty squabbling and sectarianism against the GG and anarchists. Pity.

Iosaf,

What is your point abourt fnords? You, my son, are being way too abstract...but thats ok...

Me, I look forward to seeing arrogant stupid people at each others throats in the next few years. At least we will all know we are alive. The Celtic tiger is a mangy, rabid oul pussy cat. The sterility that was 1998-2000 is gone. People are now allowed to have other ambitions besides a job for life at some faceless corporation.

Do you, Iosaf, remember the Aryan Fascistic looking ad put up by the E.S.B in 1999, some blond hunk with glasses, strong jaw and a suit, and the E.S.B's quote about "Who drives our economy?" blah, blah... they had another the year before "Who keeps Ri Ra and the temple night club going?" blah blah...

Whoever it was in P.R that thought of those poxy ad should be kicked to death for being involved in brainwashing. Fuck their mother!

There is no point about Fnord, they're smooth, unless you count their sharp pointy teeth. Then again, if you can't see them, they can't eat you.
