Jump To Comment: 1 2 3I'm from Canada, where homelessness is rampant. George Orwell wrote about the Spikes in England as miserable warehouses for government-made homelessness. Last year, the Canadian Mortgage & Housing Corp made millions in profit, and not a nickel to affordable housing. In fact, even tho it's more expensive, money was only put into Spikes. More control. The coming Global French Revolution is coming to quote Lloyd Hart. One good action by Ontario Coalition Against Poverty , and it went national, was the Give It or Guard It campaign. In other words, you're gonna spend so much policing abandoned buildings, we're going to occupy the factories and banks. At least that's what we're progressing towards. Keep it covert... and it actually works.
must always be considered with the homeless figures of Irish people in London.
1800 is a small figure compared to the amount of Irish born who are homeless or permanently squating in London.
Shame on Irish society for this!
well done to those people above!
Well done! But it's a shame it wasn't better publicised so that a few more people could've gone along to support.
Hats off to 'em anyway. I hope they got a lot of signatures.
