'Eco-anxiety' affects 78% of children under 12, a crisis that teachers say they are unable to cope with, new polling by Greenpeace has found. The solution? More ruthless exposure of children to alarmist material.

Interlocking Circles of Influence

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday February 12, 2003 13:34author by iosaf mac diarmada Report this post to the editors

being a reflection on a parlour game of Macmillan

with alusion to the foreign policies of Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, Dublin and Jedda. and reference to the Global day of Action 2003 and the Haj of 1423. with source material of RTE, CNN, Irish Times, Arabnews, AlJazeera, EU and my own clever invention.

Mr Macmillan was very old when I was still young.

On the day he rose to face Margaret Thatcher as oldest member of the House of Commons and former leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party of Great Britain and former Prime Minister, I attended a musical composition class with the now late Dr. J. Groocock. It was a good class, I learnt how to analyse the work of his university students which he used bring me in a leather satchel. May he Rest in Peace.

Macmillan used to illustrate the foreign policy of Britain and thus the British Hun by drawing interlocking circles of influence on a small piece of paper. Washington, London, Europe, each of these places would be afforded a circle and thus one supposes a mathematical set.

The present world in this century is much the same as the world of Macmillan and Groocock. It may still be represented by mathematical allocation of "sets" and interlocking circles of influence. So Mark Brennock, Irish Times Political Correspondent, discussed the
Irish Government's stance on the transatlantic rift this morning.

He made reference to a problem that has faced Dublin over the years. The interlocking circles of influence. Dublin, Boston, London, Sydney. they go on. I have in the past made reference to the mathematical problems of what I term "effin big number sets". I would like to describe the recent actions of some of these "effin big number sets".

Over the last week many people have been busy preparing for the Global Day of Action. Feb15 2003. The two cities that are causing that most problems are of course to be located within the Irish circles of influence. New York and London.
If you look at this webpage you will see a map of London provided by the Guardian newpaper observe the word Iraq with an arrow above the map. This reminds you that Iraq is east of Chancery Lane and the Temple of London where keen readers will recall I and my Italian collective used sell Big Issue.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/graphic/0,5812,886513,00.html

Now we have some indication what will happen in London next Saturday. We know that Piccadily will be most fun and high on the recommended list. So the other city that is causing problems is NYC.
These problems have been described at length here in IMC ireland, naturally as NYC is in our IMC circle of influence.

http://ireland.indymedia.org/cgi-bin/newswire.cgi?id=28476

Berlin is in the centre of Europe it is located half way between Chancery Lane and Moscow. Yesterday I made reference to Chirac´s vision of the "republic". http://ireland.indymedia.org/cgi-bin/newswire.cgi?id=28385
Today I will say nothing of Putin´s. Except that New World Order the present foreign policy thrust of Washington began after Macmillan admonished Thatcher with the words "you are selling the family silver". New World Order and the search for Anglo-American full spectrum dominance began with President Bush the first, the Chancellor of Berlin and Gorbachev of the Soviet Union. It began with the re-unification of the German states. Dont let anyone else let you even think for a moment it didnt. You may choose to trust Mr O´as-if on this one. And if you do, he shall tell you how that project will end, in time.

Dublin´s interlocking circles of influence may be thought of as a "neo-" or "post-" "joycean game". How many Irish pubs will the protesters pass in London or NYC on Feb 15? How many mosques are on the South Circular Road?

There is only mosque on the South Circular Road in Dublin and there worshippers of the Islamic faith this past week have celebrated their hopes for the Haj in this year of the Prophet 1423.

You may wonder what is the Haj and have any Irish citizens gone to the holy places of Islam this year, you may indeed wonder are the holy places of Islam in the circles of influence of Dublin?
No my cyber pals and patient readers they are not, they are in the "effin big number set" instead.

This years figures for the Haj were published this morning. The number of pilgrims performing Haj this year reached 1,924,242, according to a statement issued by the General Statistics Department of the Planning Ministry of Saudi Arabia. I have previously told you how the present Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was ceded the custody of the holy places.

Such a lot of people require a lot of food. Saudi Arabia is at the moment experiencing a concentration of prepacked meals unheard of this century. Last year I gave you details of the calorific intake of the average US soldier and teh average Birtish Hun. They are I remind you more substantial in the main than the more than 200,000 packed meals which were distributed among pilgrims at Jamrat yesterday at the expense of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd.

The Prince Abdul Aziz ibn Fahd Office for Research & Studies plans to give away four million packets of cold meals and 1.5 million packets of hot meals among the pilgrims, according to Khaled Al-Assaf, its director. The office has already distributed more than 600,000 meals in Arafat and 500,000 in Muzdalifa. (SPA)(CNN)(BBC)

Lots of food.

Yesterday pilgrims almost two million made their way to ritually stone a pillar of rock that symbolises Satan. It is not known in which circle of influence Satan is most effectively represented. The sophisticated reader will recognise the allusion to Dante. THe rich reader will pay my phone bill. http://www.arabnews.com/Article.asp?ID=22711

Now back to the Irish Times and RTE.
at the fifty first second.
"the bottom line is they [IRLGOV] will not do anything that involves them telling [WASHINGTON] that they do not support what they are doing".

Back in the 20th century Macmillan drew his circles and chose Washington over Europe. Then Thatcher came along and sold the family silver.
I think it was taken as read, that by the stage the elder Macmillan berated Thatcher the circles of influence too had tarnished. Dublin though is different.
Dublin must address these problems "with pride in our past, and a recognition of what we may give in the future".
I do not yet expect Mecca to be on the list but I think at least the mandarins of foreign pllicy in Iveagh House could consider including Barcelona in the circles of influence of Dublin.

it would only be realpolitik.

And I will tell you why.

Dublin has considerable interest in exploiting the natural resources of Africa. The future greed of Ireland may best be served by supporting European policy of economic expansion and convergence with that continent.

Dublin has emerging and new Oil resources in the Atlantic zone, best profit and kickback may be had if those resources are processed by our European partners in the industry.

Dublin has offered several world IT maunfacturers excellent tax cuts and incentives to operate in Ireland, this may best be developed in the future by selling Irelands graduates to Telecommunication concerns, the present US parties in this sector are weak and subject to inquiry so it would be a safer kickback option to support our European partners.

So my "bottom line", is this.
Ireland Irlgov. has no circles of influence.
it is a rump. It is a corrupt oligarchy whose family silver was fecked long long ago. Those who see their "destiny" as being the sheriffs of that immorality may best ensure the continuance of their "benefits of being at the heart of Europe" by learing how to be European. However it may be a bit late, they have already exposed themselves as the inept greedy little rascals they are.
{ils manquent l´ elan}

IN the 21st century the interlocking circles that include IMC will mean more than either Dublin, London or Washington.

There are other interlocking cirles but for now keen reader of IMC you need not worry of them.
