 Order Of Merit for distinguished service to Spanish Agriculture Irish Minister for Agriculture Joe Walsh is conferred with The Grand Cross ( i.e. "thanks for your help in the Crusade so far") By arch Spanish Imperialist Parasite, Juan Carlos I ,the so called "king of Spain". The Spanish obviously have more time for you than your own people Mr Walsh. Any awards from the ICMSA or the IFA for your sell out of Irish farmers and the communities who rely on them for their good fresh food ? Also in Europe proposals are afoot for a limiting scheme to licence and register small fishing boats on inland waterways. No more having a casual leisure boat to head out fishing in unless your EC registered and tagged and paying all the fees and taxes. Under the pretext of managing fish stock and water safety the law intends to limit licences to "applicants who have a track record ...in any two of the five years prior to Jan 1 2003 and be able to demonstrate a fishing record (by the applicant or immediate family) going back to 1990" . New regulations will allow police access to all boats for inspection without warrant and require owners to carry a picture ID, pay for licencing, regulation, tax and insurance on their small boats. As with all fishing boats a microchip to allow it's position to be shown (to protect stocks from illegal unauthorised fishing and in case of accident)will be the next costly investment for the lucky owners of a new small boat licence. Fishermens groups have conspired in " a long process of discussion and negotiation", to allow this law to be passed believing it will give their group sole control of waterways. This it will but it will cost them just as much as when they sided with the Spanish in the 1980's to block attempts to curtail overfishing of our fish stocks . Now they are unable to think outside that box or get aware from it's catastrophic consequences.
