 Let's Try! People of the world, band together and strike on Feb 14th. Let our solidarity against Bush and imperialist business nterests stand firm. This is only a first step in a world-wide citizens movement for peace and justice. Let us try! It is time people of the world stand united for peace. Let us withold our labor on February 14. Let that day be spent educating our brothers and sisters on peace, justice and international solidarity. Call your friends, union leaders and contacts and tell them to stay home from work on February 14th: STRIKE FOR PEACE, just as Bush will surely strike for war. Spread this message far and wide. Somewhat dubious.
is a great idea. There have been calls for it in the USA too. It combines a lot of desires that seem to be in contradiction in the current methods of opposing the war in that it's completely pacific and it's also direct action. People that are anti-symbolic marches and people that are anti-direct-action can come together on this issue. The unions could be really good in helping to organise this. It's symbolic AND possibly effective.

so the general strike in Venezueala if it goes on as before (today is the 58th day) on the 14th of February will be a strike against US imperialism.
but on the 13th it will of course be a strike for US imperialist interests.
and if it lasts till Feb 15th it will stop being part of a global citizens movement against US imperialism and go back to being part of a global citizens movement supporting US imperialism.
I really look forward to reading the Cuban and maybe your analysis on that one.
