Bewore of BOC

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday January 19, 2003 20:54author by Ordinary decent protestor Report this post to the editors

BOBOC = Beware of Brendan O'Connor Sunday Independent Journalist posing as an alternative type Journo sympathetic to the causes of peace activists, environmentalists and those who fight for social justice.

BOBOC is the two syllable word to shout if you see him coming.

His comical nuances on Don't feed the ... and his arty type dress sense have duped people into giving BOC some sort of credibility among youth, among activists and those who dress in a similar fashion. However the articles he wrote in the Sindo following his coverage of the protest at Henry Kissinger in UCC and today’s piece in the SINDO on anti war protestors should leave no one in any doubt about where his sympathies lie.

Either in his cheque book, up his nose or with whatever high society he has ambitions to enter. Lets leave him to that.

Just another example of how silly this whole thing is, Justin. They haven't even a clue between them. One would think that when the journalist says he is with the Sunday Independent that would be the first inkling that his opinion mightn't be the same as the granolas. But to read the papers is to contribute to the imperialistic war machines! We granolas do not need to read the mainstream media to know the TRUTH! of what is goin on! Down with the imperialistic cabal!!! Down with the Evil Empire!!! NO TO WAR!! NO TO UNCLE SAM!!

Sorry er got a wee bit carried away there. First lesson is if you do not know who the journo is, then be smart about what you say to him. Of course if you aren't able to be smart anyway you'll have a problem but that's another story!

That anyone who reads Mr O'Connor could see him as sympathetic to anyone on the Left.

Imagine that.
God where would be if they got all the beste lines.
up their noses, i´m sure it´s worse than that ordinary decent protester, sure it´s shocking the sort of thing that goes on I´ll tell you.
No-one gets the credit they deserve.
and as for the phone bills do they get paid?
oh no.
I think you should write a big long letter to the Sunday Independent and warn them.
warn them in the sternest terms that they are evading the standards of decent protest writing.
go on do that.
you´ll feel much better.

and as for those arty types, oh dear, there were none of those in Ireland before SinnFeintheworkersparty. and that was years ago.
I mean years.

Sure my mammy had to wait hours for a condom up at Connoly station.

Arty clothes a movement do not make.
nor do piercings mohicans or big boots.

You might think you´re impressing someone Brendan
O´Connor but you´re not.
if I had a photo of you I´d be distributing it right now amongst the arty farty type protest networks so they´d recognise your sparmy robbing thieving little mug.

I´m a most ordinary protester and such behaviour is seriously putting me off the struggle.

BOBOC!
BOBOC!
BOBOC!
I´ll shout it alright.
