Missile Defence Shield aka Star Wars facilitated by Labour Party The Guardian reports that Geoff Hoon has announced that the UK will allow use of radar bases under its control for the purposes of the US's Missile Defence Shield. Still though there is some comfort: imagine what terrible things would have happened if the voters had elected the Tories instead of Labour?!

Jump To Comment: 2 1Two weeks before Blairīs election as PM, striking liverpool workers marched on London and converged with a RTS event in Trafalgar Square reaching a peak crowd of 25,000.
Great day was had, and the poiht was made that the poeple expected change.
Blair accepted the PM job and began the facial change. No-one expected much. Most saw less.
some while later
Mr Blairīs son was found to be a drunken little thug on the corner of Whitehall and Trafalgar Square and escorted to CharingX police station.
some while later
Blair is a liar.
He has betrayed his party.
He has betrayed his nation.
He has betrayed his country.
He has broken all his promises.
He has long passed the time that the people, his nation and his country demand he goes.
some time before.
Macmillan spoke against Blairīs predeccesor Thatcher and accused of her of "selling the family silver".
The Irish will remember our family silver went missing along with our crown long ago.
The silver was sold, and everything else hocked.
Now if you think about the hock you will remember you must keep your ticket.
If you lose your ticket, you donīt get the stuff back.
modern society has given "junk-converters" a theft based money exchange version of the hock.
I could go on, but I donīt really need to anymore.
It has all been done already.
Seamus Milne in the Guardian:
quote:
"As things stand, there must be every expectation that Tony Blair is prepared to drag this country into a profoundly dangerous US imperial adventure in the teeth of mass public opposition without even the veneer of prior parliamentary endorsement. One result is that sections of what is already Britain's largest-ever anti-war movement will turn to civil disobedience. Last week, in the first such incident since Britain's war of intervention against the Soviet Union more than 80 years ago, two traindrivers based at Motherwell in Scotland refused to move a freight train carrying ammunition destined for British forces in the Gulf in protest against the threat of war against Iraq. More than a dozen workers at the depot have now supported the action. If this war goes ahead, many others are likely to follow their lead. In such circumstances, direct action will not simply be justified, it will be a democratic necessity. "
