Latest news on the imminent, though delayed, collapse of Dublin City Council is that the City Manager had a meeting yesterday with the Group Leaders of all the parties to find out of a compromise was possible. Compromise proving impossible Fitzgerald said he was going to tell the Minister the Council could not pass the Estimates some time today and most Councillors at the scheduled Council meeting last night were expecting the letter in the post disolving the Council at the end of this week or the beginning of next. Finally.

With some honourable exceptions, they (including your party, remember Sligo?) will be able to devise some compromise (sellout) and screw working class people AGAIN!!!!
I hate censorship, everibody can post on indymedia, except the SWP.
lots of intelligent people who like to solve problems and cut to the grist.
set up your local assemblies now!
take control back from the careerists!
and YFG ;-) are you going to include homelessness in your website?
Everybody is allowed post to indymedia, provided they don't breach the guidelines. If you have a political problem with FG, raise it when they put forward their policies. Constant references to 'FG scum', just like references to 'Labour scum', 'republican scum', 'Leninist scum', 'anarchist scum', 'hippie scum', etc, are pointless.
I think that FG scum shouldn't be allowed on Indymedia.
I bet that more work gets done if the council is abolished! Anyway, Local authorities are increasingly in the control of the county managers, city managers, et al, and it will be business as usual. So much for democracy!
what are the chances that Labour will compromise in order to 'save' the council? They care more about their positions than fighting in the interests of workers.
