"I'm So Bored With the U.S.A."

Yankee soldier
He wanna shoot some skag
He met it in Cambodia
But now he can't afford a bag

Yankee dollar talk
To the dictators of the world
In fact it's giving orders
An' they can't afford to miss a word

I'm so bored with the U...S...A...
But what can I do?

Yankee detectives
Are always on the TV
'Cos killers in America
Work seven days a week

Never mind the stars and stripes
Let's print the Watergate Tapes
I'll salute the New Wave
And I hope nobody escapes

I'm so bored with the U...S...A...
But what can I do?

Move up Starsky
For the C.I.A.
Suck on Kojak
For the USA

I've always hated 'political bands' - i want my bands to speak of politics, but of something higher and to help me cry through the struggles ahead.

The Clash songs always have done this for me.

A great man. A loss to the world. We had a bit of a clash bash in his honour last nite. And only 50 too. A great tragedy. I would reprint the lyrics to my own favourite Clash song, Spanish Bombs, but I can't be arsed. Do yourself a favor, buy or download a clash album. http://www.morpheus.com

Also, I was a bit upset by TV3's headline yesterday which was to my mind very insensitive: "He won't be rocking the Casbah anymore" or something along those lines. Disgusting, but then what do you expect?

Joe Strummer, Rest in Peace.

spanish songs in andalucia
the shooting sites in the days of '39
oh, please, leave the vendanna open
fredrico lorca is dead and gone
bullet holes in the cemetery walls
the black cars of the guardia civil
spanish bombs on the costa rica
i'm flying in a dc 10 tonight

spanish bombs,
yot' quierro y finito yote querda,
oh ma corazon
spanish bombs,
yot' quierro y finito yote querda,
oh ma corazon

spanish weeks in my disco casino
the freedom fighters died upon the hill
they sang the red flag
they wore the black one
but after they died it was mockingbird hill
back home the buses went up in flashes
the irish tomb was drenched in blood
spanish bombs shatter the hotels
my senorita's rose was nipped in the bud

chorus

the hillsides ring with "free the people"
or can i hear the echo from the days of '39?
with trenches full of poets the ragged army,
fixin' bayonets to fight the other line
spanish bombs rock the province
i'm hearing music from another time
spanish bombs on the costa brava
i'm flying in on a dc 10 tonight

spanish songs in andalucia,
mandolina,
oh ma corazon
spanish songs in granada,
oh ma corazon
