Under what law

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday December 11, 2002 14:22author by Matt Sheehan Report this post to the editors

North Korean ship boarded and searched by Spanish vessel in international waters

International law of the sea breached as part of America's War on its Enemies

As reported by RTE....

Spain says 15 Scud missiles found on ship

December 11, 2002

(12:32) Spain's Defence Minister, Federico Trillo, has said 15 Scud missiles were uncovered on a ship that was intercepted by the Spanish navy in the Arabian Sea.

Mr Trillo said the ship was headed for a port in the Middle East.

United States officials said that although the vessel's final destination was unclear, it was believed to be bound for Yemen, and that it had originated in North Korea.

The Scud missiles were found during a search by an international team. Spanish government sources said that the missiles were hidden under a consignment of cement.

US military experts are examining the ship, which was intercepted by two Spanish warships. The warships had to fire shots to get the freighter to stop.

The vessel, named the So San, had been under surveillance by US intelligence since it left North Korea.

MY COMMENTS: Under what law could a Spanish military vessel board a vessel of another state in international waters. Spain has no land boundary near the Arabian Sea. It's navy has no remit in the area. What if a Cuban military vessel boarded a US warship off the Irish coast? (Yes it sounds absurd, but so is the real-life story as reported above).

Looks like another set up to me and I bet George W is behind it. Look out North Korea, Mr. Bush is preparing for war on ANYBODY who doesnt toe his fascist line.
