I think everyone that have called Dessie a monster
ect are smallminded F**kers that have never looked at the two sides of the story.I bet not 1 of uses have every met or talked to him in the last few years and in my eyes hes a changed man .He needs to be with his wife sons and daughter .How would any of uses like to go through most of your childhood without a father that could be there only for smallminded people.Think about it Dessie has missed so much history,mod-cons and modern musicin the last 20 years.Our family has been through thick and thin and all people can do is slag us and call him a terrorist when he is'nt .And if you think hes such a danger to the community then shut up cause if any sane person read this about themselfs they'd go mad .lots of love

Yes I know that most workers vote for capitalist parties. Look at the results of any election in a capitalist country! Do you not remember the election in Southern Ireland in May? The capitalist parties of FF,FG,PD,Lab have an overwhelming majority of the vote. Doe that mean all southern Irish workers are reactionary bastards that are to be written off?

Yes most protestent workers vote for capitalist/imperialist parties. So do most Catholic workers. SF and SDLP are capitalist/imperialist parties. SF are very willing to back up US imperialism, they receive money from big business in the US, they support US capitalism's intervention into the north as much as UUP-DUP-SDLP!

I dont think that he should be released. I agree that most republican and loyalist prisoners are politically motivated and they should be released. However O'Hare is brutish and political motivation cannot explain for his actions.

I think that each should be judged on his actions. Where a prisoner is an unreformed sectarian bigot he shouldn't be let out. Where a prisoner was particularly brutal and sick they should not be released.

I think that the death penalty should be used for the likes of O'Hare to punish his barbarity.

Dessie O Hare is reformed character having spent over 20 years in prison, not for murder but for kidnapping and cutting off of a greedy selfish rich dentists fingers. Dessie deserves to be released under the terms of the Good Friday agreement, as an INLA prisoner. the INLA have been on ceasefire since 1995 unlike murdering LVF scumbags.
Dessie took a Trapist monks vow of silence whilst in prison and also meditates. Dessie deserves to be released and god willing will be released soon. Dessie is not a monster, but a product of the an era, that era being turbulent 1970's northern ireland. That era has past, and we all embrace a new era, the era of peace even though the LVF and johnny adair are still engaged in terrorist activities.

Dessie has spent 15 yrs in prison, more time than most serve for murder. He is a qualifying prisoner under the GFA.

He has also been examined by 4 different psychiatrists; all of whom judge him to be sane,
and not a danger to the community. Now how may of us have certificates of sanity from 4 different shrinks?

Kitty is correct; if a loyalist had cut off someones fingers, then you wouldn't get jokes about it on indy. At least I hope not. Shankill Butchers jokes are even less funny.

These are extremely distasteful comments, especially the one purporting to come from John O'Grady. We are talking about a real victim of crime here. O'Hares crime is still fairly recent and I am sure it still haunts the mind of Mr O'Grady each day. These immature and sick comments should be removed. They are not humourous.

O'Hare is in my opinion a very dangerous individual who probably has not learnt anything in prison. He should not be relased yet. Apart from the awful act he committed on Mr O'Grady his gang shot a Garda in the stomach and almost killed him. The Guard later left the Force as he just could not do his job afterwards. Garda killers, and those who attempt to kill used to get 40 year in prison. That is how long he deserves, not a mere 15 years.
