Southport attacker Axel Rudakubana had declared the need for "white genocide". Is this why the authorities are so adamant that it wasn't a terrorist offence?

Another alarmist climate scare story bites the dust as new findings published in Nature show no decline in the strength of the Gulf Stream since the 1960s. Seems the 'day after tomorrow' won't be freezing after all.

CARLO GIULIANI

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday December 08, 2002 08:27author by a Carlo's friend Report this post to the editors

www.piazzacarlogiuliani.org the site is in english too I invite you to visit it thanks

in the night between fridays 6th and saturday 7th december a fire destroyed in piazza Alimonda the souvenirs which many people usually have left to remember Carlo Giuliani.
This is the third "strange" fire which destroyed Carlo's souvenirs.
Of course the police told that the fire has not been provocated by anybody.
Our fight will never be destroyed by a fire and Carlo is always in our hearts

I heard a rumour that the cop that killed Carlos won the case on grounds of self defence last week. Anyone have details?

Placanica is the carabiniere who killed Carlo, but still is not sure that he really killed Carlo, the Giuliani's lawyers tell that another carabiniere inside the defender killed Carlo.
The judge decided that Placanica is not responsible because he reacted to a violence.
Now the last word is in the hands of another judge who before 31st december must decid if to open or not a public judgement like the Giuliani's lawyers ask for.

He didn't win the case, the prosecutor (civil law prosecutor - not exactly the same as the DPP here but still not a proper court) decided that there wouldn't be a case....

though it's possible that there still could be some form of trial (Italian judges have been great for not doing what they're told...except when they "disappear"...mafia, right wing - different names, same thugs)

Many are still awaiting judgement.
I know of many people in the square when Carlo was shot, who were not party to any "violence", afterwards they began legal proceedings against the Italian Police and State.
The banner on Carlo´s memorial site is quite correct. [see link]
Whomever has no memory has no future.

Whatever our individual thoughts on Carlo´s actions that day, or the response of Placanica, it is pretty much indisputable that the prior assesment of Burlosconi´s security "policy" for the Genoa protests were completely unsuitable.

Under the direct orders of B. Genoa was fortified for a week, the Italian police were converted into soldiers and a young man died in the ensuing street confrontations.

I had thought that something akin to this would happen, we appeared to be reaching a stage where blood would most definetly be spilt, and for what purpose?

Carlo´s mother earlier this year made the suggestion that homes in Italy leave something white on their windowsills as a sign of being against the War. It seems to me that a young mother does her best to come to terms with the political conflict which squandered her son´s life. Carlo´s behaviour and geographical location was politically motivated. His murder his death also was politically assisted. And these are the issues. Again and again I see, read, hear of moment by moment anaylsis of the square that day. And always I remember the words of my friend a pacifist activist of twenty years experience who watched Carlo´s death from the steps of the Church less than 70 metres away. Whomever is stealing the cards, momentos and messages from the memorial are doing so motivated by (one supposes) a hatred which we can not allow fester on in European society.
Carlo vive = We shall not forget.
RIP.
