"I walked down the road between the children and the tanks until I was fifty meters from the tank, where I tried to dialogue with the soldiers. I implored them not to shoot live ammunition at unarmed children"

"I was shot in the thigh. When I fell they
continued shooting in my direction. I crawled part of the way up the alley, and then some of the youngsters dragged me up the rest of the way. No ambulances were allowed into the camp."

Palestinian boy, 8, killed by IDF gunfire in Nablus By and Arnon Regular, Ha'aretz
Correspondents, Ha'aretz Service and Agencies

An eight-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by IDF gunfire Monday in the West Bank city
of Nablus.

The children gathered in the center of the city, hurling stones at an army jeep, witnesses
said. The soldiers opened fire, killing Jihad Faqeh, an 8-year-old boy who was standing in
a side alley, hospital officials said.

Seven Palestinians were wounded, including two adults who were in serious condition.

Taking a bullet in order to protect children, well I'd called that Sainthood! So, you Phuq are the spokesperson for Caoihme? Wow, are you always codependent and worrying about the feelings of others? Maybe you hate women! Corporate media dehumanizes Palestinians and their protectors. Renaissance painters glorify the better nature of humankind. Why not use their work to undescore the good deeds of contemporary humankind? Maybe you're just jealous that you aren't out in the occupied territories taking a bullet in order to protect children! Maybe you have a yellow streak!

The shithead who posted this item, sounds like he/she is taking the piss. Caoimhe is a very brave and humane person of whom we in Ireland can be very proud. I would be very pleased to shake her hand. Well done Caoimhe!!!

can be heard on the american radio show "Democracy Now!". There's an interview with Caoimhe here (it's also available as a realplayer stream later in the week).

Apparently on Israeli radio there is currently an admission that Ian Hook was shot by an Israeli soldier, so they've dropped the "don't know" strategy and are concentrating on the "crossfire" excuse, which doesn't seem very plausible either.

Good section on violence against women also.

Because if it isn't then it's probably deeply embarassing to Caoimhe. If it is then the person posting it should be ashamed.

Whichever way it goes, it's inappropriate and weird.

I worked with Cahoime in Jenin Refugee Camp in April and May this past spring. As her friend and comrade, i thank all the people of Ireland who have supported her, including her family. Through you all, we, who worked with her, were also supported, encouraged, and strengthened in that difficult time.

Please keep up your efforts on behalf of Cahoime and the people of Palestine. We need you.

Hasta la victoria siempre!
