Hamas Suicide Bomber Kills 11 in Israel, but it's really Israel's Fault!

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Saturday November 23, 2002 17:50author by Arabs should return to Saudia, their ancestral homeland Report this post to the editors

Hamas bomber kills 11 and maims dozens of schoolchildren in Jerusulam. However, Israel is to blame because of the "occupation"

Come on now, really....Don't you think the Israelis bring this upon themselves. I mean, what about the occupation. I'm sure that the poor victim that was the suicide bomber just woke up one morning and happened to have bombs strapped to his waist. Then he must have uttered: "Oh, Allah, I don't want to die, but I must, this occupation is just driving me to these terrible actions in which I slaughter and maim dozens of school children...oh, I wish I didn't have to slaughter these children, but I must, the occupation absolves me of all personal decency, moral responsibility, and human judgement".

At that point, the bomber in a robotic daze then spent the next 10 hours trying to get out of Bethlehem (because of the occupation which makes it impossible for anyone to even be outside) at which point the only thought going through his head was a robotic drone that said "Must stop the occupation, must kill school children, must blow up civilian bus, must stop occupation".

Why do you say "socialism is a joke"

What do you base this on? I challenge you to come up with a credable reason.

"Socialism is the only solution"

That's a very funny comment.

author by kev - sppublication date Sun Nov 24, 2002 21:39author address author phone Report this post to the editors

clarification:

i dont know how you managed to glean from OK's post that he, or any member of the socialist party, supports such groups as Islamic Jihad or Hamas? this is simply not true.

the socialist party, and the cwi do not support or condone the use of terrorism. explaining why such actions occur is not the same as legitimising terrorism and its methods.

Maybe the RUC special branch ought to take some of the blame for the Omagh bomb, maybe just a little bit. They did gat about six tip-offs about it, after all.

If the palestinians had apache helicopters and hellfire and sidewinder missiles, they wouldn't need to use suicide bombers to kill innocent civilians in the way israel does. believing all arabs should go "back to saudi, where they came from" betrays your inclination towards ethnic cleansing.

1. "It's right to say that the Israeli government is to blame for the creation of suicide bombers"

2. "I think socialism is achievable"

Point 1. This is like saying the British are to blame for the Omagh bomb, no they weren't, the scumbags who planted the bomb were to blame.

Point 2. This is self-deception at its highest. The fundamentalist Muslims of Hamas and Islamic Jihad that the far left are so happy to support have no interest in socialism. They obviously like your support, but not your politics. Many are of the same ilk who decided that a Miss World contest, and a free press, are a just reason for going on a bloody rampage. Your shared political view goes little futher than a legitimate call for a Palestinian state and a hatred of America (for very different reasons I might add). The notion that it is a socialist struggle is just plain stupid, it's just more bloody nationalism.

If you look at the Israel/Palestine situation, and the national question in general, socialism is the only solution.

I agree that there should be a Palestinian state. But it will be usless if the people of Palestine are ruled over by corrupt bureaucratic Arafat stooges. I also say that there should be an Israeli state (unlike some on the left I say that the Israeli nation does exist and has a right to exist). But what's the point in an Israeli state that continues to be run by zionists and terrorists?

If you look to the economic problems in Israel and Palestine, the only solution is socialism. Only socialism can plan the resources of the Israel/Palestine area in the interests of the people. The right of return can only be solved with socialism. The conflicts of the middle east can only be solved by socialism.

This is not utopian, I think socialism is achievable, and it's necessary.

the one problem I have with indymedia is that fools like the one who wrote this joke of an article decide to post to it.

Its not news at all really , is it?

there are plenty of websites/news talkboards for you to have your say on , go to them instead of spamming the newswire.

considering the person who wrote this cannot even spell Jerusalem he/she should hardly pursue a career as a budding journalist.

and as for this - "There needs to be a mass alternative for ordinary palestinians, and to act in solidarity with Israeli workers."

currently there needs to be a Palestinine state a lot more than the socialist paradise you dream of.

mass alternative , solidarity = yawnsome socialist buzzwords zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's right to say that the Israeli government is to blame for the creation of suicide bombers. Their barbarism and attacks on ordinary palestinians do cause people to turn towards suicide bombing.

However it must be remembered that suicide bombing and terrorism in general is the tactics of desperation. The Palestinian leaders are inadequate and corrupt. They do not offer an alternative. The Palestinian leadership is also to blame.

There needs to be a mass alternative for ordinary palestinians, and to act in solidarity with Israeli workers.
