Do you need to be a full professor or a TD/MEP to be eligible to speak at IAWM meetings?

Why though, does RBB have to be chair of everything? IAWM, Anti-Charges, Save The Dun laoire baths etc etc. And he is also SWP leader. Is it some kind of Cult of the Personality?

This is not a sectarian jibe, rather it should be food for thought for the SWP rank & file. How could one person carry out so many leadership roles properly? Why would anyone want to amass so many titles? Wouldn't it be better if different people were allowed to take up these positions so that their skills could be developed?

He is the leader, and he knows best. Why would the SWP want to put someone else in charge of any of their campaigns? They might make the wrong decisions! Only an experienced full timer can be trusted with control.

(Tune in next week for part 2 of this lesson, explaining why its better that an SWP full-timer should be in charge of a campaign rather than the members of that campaign, who might make the wrong decisions.

Part 3 covers the post-revolutionary period. In other words, why the state should be run by SWP full-timers rather than ordinary workers. After all, its counter-revolutionary to give power to people who might make the wrong decisions)

now a prof of law.

there were a few chanting "spuc off".
hmmmm.
wonder what they ended up doing.
hmmmm.
maybe i´ll ask a troll to do some datamining.
hmmmm.
drawing crowds is it?
in a TCD art´s building room.
crowds?
would that be a mass-mobilisation or just a chat with the hacks?

or "Youth Defence Off" these days.

Whatever happened to SPUC? Even by 1992, SPUC didn't really figure.

What was the number again? I must have chanted it thousands of times.

Curious asked if you have to be a full professor or TD/MEP to speak. Well Richie Boyd-Barrett is not a professor, and he (or anyother member of SWP) has no chance of ever getting elected to a public position.

SPUC were never really heard of much after the student court cases in 1988/89. They still exist as far as I know though, Bloody Mary Lucey and her husband run it.
There was an interview with Lucey in the papers after the X case and she came across really badly compared to the young women on the pro-choice side, so they made a strategic decision to retire the dinosaurs from public duty. This is why a lot of the anti-choice speakers now are young women lawyers and doctors, most of them are Opus Dei too - but they keep quiet about that.

i remember the double hundred last digits, but there u go, not even my memory is infallible.
I do though remember the young anarchist who stood against Ivana the blonde czech for those S.U. elections.
She was nice. I fancied her.
ex-Maoists have figured in Temple Bar Properties as well.
and SPUC the tendencany is well alive, I believe that Sinn Fein and the Socialist Party are currently operating a technical grouping in Dail Eirinn with one of their former supporters.
Sorry lads and lassies if that re-ingites one of those "why are ye in the technical grouping?" debates.
Is that anarchist still about? Her hair was well funky, I voted for the politics not the hair.
or did I vote? hmmm.
can´t remember. But lacing the milk in the Arts block with green dye to protest against the Bewleys owner man, I remember that.
hmmm.
is he still about?

IOSAF your memory is a bit off on this. The anarchist you are thinking of is Aileen who actually ran the year after Ivania (against Eddie Doyle and the fascist loving Tom Costello). I managed her election campaign so I should know! Her and Ivania are actually good friends as both were very active in pro-choice stuff before and since.

Aileen is still active (she's another WSM member) but has her hair more under control these days. You'll find a picture of her speaking at the pre referedum pro-choice march in Dublin last year at http://struggle.ws/wsm/news/2002/anvmarchFEB.html

I remembered him as Murphy not Maguire.
nasty piece of work. the lingering Dockerel tendency and interest in the residual constituency which was Dublin University. The last unionist MP was Dockerel whose great grandson was president of the Philosophy soc that year. [more inaccuracy of the iosaf memory?]

When Tom the neo-nazi left my easy to find duffle bag of careerist hacks files, he had transferred to a American University. I have checked the Federal Prisoner Locator Service and it appears he has not commited a Federal crime in U.S. jurisdiction or the Philipines. Nor is he in Prague, the empty buildings have been searched.
Hmmm. Where is Tom? Ivana and Aileen (i remember were comrades and friends) still about, a few characters dead, and Tom? hmmm. What did he get up to? any answers on a postcard please to BBC house London W12 8QT, and next week we´ll show you how to achieve cold fission in your garden shed.
Now Ivana and you other Trinity people, you´ve been on the Irish scene a long time, well done, and you´ve built up quite an impressive network (or) shadowey cabal of interests. You are and always were very clever and very intelligent people. And you were very rarely underestimated which allows you the peculiar tactical advantage of being overestimated now. I trust ye will go on doing your best, and treating both follicle, root and sprout as integral parts of the hair/fur.
So make sure you widen the debate about the War, to all elements of Irish Neutrality. Many Irish think it unlikely that NATO forces can be stopped from using Irish defence resources.
these principally being
Shannon
Knock
Irish metereological services
Cork deep sea harbour
Rockall atlantic zone.
hmmm I not sure if I agree, but I was always a mad bastard and no-one ever paid me that long craved attention [check my easy to find psychological profile which draws heavy on the work of Antony Kemp of All Souls Oxford], but it seems to me that the search for Irish neutrality if widened to include the status of Irish citizens in the wider world, then we have room and space to redefine that Aricle º10 wishywashy commitment.
good luck with your lectures. And students are an awful pain in the ass, Ivana don´t you think?
they´re all on strike over here in Barcelona at the moment, someone´s been filling their heads with militancy notions.

The guy I'm thinking of ran against Aine de Paor for President and he had been in YFG in UCD. Fuck it.. I know his name well, just can't remember... will come back to me. He was against condoms, which the godless Proddies in TCD did not like, once I'd found an article he had writen and circulated it. Was speaking to him after in Mulligans and told him I was behind it and he did not mind. Was more interested in showing me a coin of King Charkles 1st of England and explaining how we had to get catholics back on the throne of the neighbouring island. It was a bit bizarre...

Mark Coleman - thats him.

but not for its airstrip which is small more for the adjoining Airmotive site, this is a most interesting aerospace repair centre.
Most cruise missile bits get made in anonymous grey buildings in the London suburbs. But Airmotive is a key Irish facility.
you might include it on your list of "Irish defence resources"= I would.
and check out the oil-spill article I left the other day new update on ESA involvement, should get the conspiracy heads buzzing.
