Investigation into South Africa bombings![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I did take this from the RTE site (sorry) but it is an important enough story and I haven't seen it on here and it has not been prominent in the mainstream media. I suppose is depends on who is suspected of terrorist attacks and so it is not reported widely. Investigation into South Africa bombings South Africa is hunting down white right-wing soldiers and police after the most serious bombing spree since racist apartheid rule ended in 1994, the defence minister said today. Nine bombs exploded in the sprawling black township of Soweto near Johannesburg early yesterday, killing a woman and raising fears that white extremists are back on the warpath. A 10th explosion near Pretoria wounded two others. Defence Minister Mosiuoa Lekota said that a minority of right-wing white Afrikaners in the armed forces and police could be part of a plot to plunge South Africa into a race war.‘They are a racially oriented group. They want to achieve a race war,’ Lekota said. Nobody has been arrested or claimed responsibility for the worst bombing spree since a blitz by white rightwingers ahead of all-race polls in 1994 that swept Nelson Mandela to power. Mandela said in a statement during a visit to London: ‘This is the work of extremists who do not have the capacity to weigh the consequences of their criminal actions’. RTE News - October 31, 2002 |

Withdraw that, Pat. You know NOTHING about the backgrounds of most of the people who put in the effort to keep this site running. I make no judgements or claims of knowledge about your background and I thank you to offer me the same courtesy.
Engaging in petty ad hominem attacks will win you no friends. Feel free to disagree with the idea that we don't like reposted articles (it allows original and otherwise suppressed content to see the light of day) but at least do it without making sweeping generalisations like the one above.
And if the truth be known, we moan and groan and cajole about taking articles from other sites but they are only deleted if it's a concerted effort to bung up the wire (like the person who posted 15 articles in a row from www.euobserver.com) or the article, or the article is already posted on a series of Indymedia websites.
And furthermore, like everything else, we are people not machines, and try to apply our guidelines with flexibility so if someone explains why they are copying an article from the mainstream media of course that will be taken into account.
Where do these IMC guys get off? Shucks hes offended.
Grow up and cop on Daithi Lacha.
It's not about being pompous. Members of the IMC collective have been called everything under the sun by the people who come here to publish and discuss to their hearts content every day. Enough is enough.
All I'm asking for is a little bit of mutual respect - with Pat's answer being "fuck off" I don't think we're even going to get that.
and when the imc priesthood stops attacking their critics while under disguise.
ok. which one of you is c?
freedomfighter? etc etc
it doesnt take much to start you lot off on mental rants. ffs guys calm it down, dont get so gaddam personal. this newswire is about (or should be about) political issues, not bullshit personal attacks. we are trying (allegedly) to change the world. unless of course you guys are trolls, in which case people should just ignore you altogether. which i have started to...
