Ramadan has begun in Londonistan. It's another sign of how Islam is encroaching on Western culture, says Tim Dieppe. It's a long time since critics of any other religion were imprisoned. But don't you dare insult Islam!

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3The call of a world strike in support of the Palestinian People. Never noticed the same call in 1948 when 7 armies tried to wipe out Israel.
Never noticed the same call when Egypt, Syria and Jordan mobilized their armies to destroy Israel in 1967.
Never noticed a world call to strike in the 1930's when all jews were stripped of their rights in Nazi Germany?
Never noticed world call to strike in solidarity of the 400 victims of suicide attacks.
Ah, but it is alright for a few hundred jews to be killed we are used to it by now!
It is interesting the call comes from a Saudi citizen. If a remember 15 of the 19 suicide bombers who murdered 3000 Americans came from that country. I wonder when this citizen last voted in a free and fair election?
sir,
what are you dribbling about?
it doesn't matter that no one went on strike in the 1930's to protest against jews being stripped of their rights. that's the past and the past is not our fault, as long as we reject the status quo inherited from that past. everyone knows that the world is fucked and that it must be changed but we can only alter the present.
the war currently being waged against the palestinians is clearly wrong, the fact that the state waging this war has been the underdog in the past does not give a carte blanche moral quality to their actions in the present.
a strike is a demonstration of both political awareness and political power by the workers of the world. how can you say that is a bad thing?
>Never noticed world call to strike in solidarity >of the 400 victims of suicide attacks.
murder is still murder, but at least murder committed by militants isn't given the legitimacy of murder committed by "democratic" states spuriously claiming to act in the interests of all "free and rational people". the sickening claim of righteousness that surrounds such vulgar displays of power as the current war on terrorism is all the more offensive than crimes which are more simply wrong. it's the difference between genocide being official state policy and a misguided minority trying to strike back in the face of overwhelming odds and persecution.
>If a remember 15 of the 19 suicide bombers who >murdered 3000 Americans came from [saudi]
9/11 was a pathological manifestation of what's wrong with the world. to only deal with such symptoms is missing the point and treats the visible surface as if it was the entire situation.
the particular saudi in question wasn't involved in 9/11 so the only way your point is relevant is if you subscribe to some sort of racial guilt theory ... an outlook which can only be described as full of shit.
>I wonder when this citizen last voted in a free >and fair election?
this is another bizarre statement on your behalf. the person in question cannot be responsible for the political regime in their own country. dontcha know that the establishment trys to supress, not encourage, worker power?
your speach was designed to blunt the popular backlash against the atrocities being committed by the state of israel today. it did this by comparing the somewhat murky evil situation in israel today to evil situations that can safely be considered wrong in retrospect but have no direct influence on the moral quality of the actions in question. it hoped to inhibit the ability of people to make a moral decision on israel, in the here and now, when such a moral opinion might actually count for something and make a difference.
my heart bleeds. for you and your point of view.
