Another DAYLIGHT Hercules lands at Shannon.

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday October 23, 2002 15:44author by Tim Hourigan Report this post to the editors

And that's not all.

There's a lot going on, I don't put it all up here as I don't get that much time on the net, so here's some extracts.

Tuesday Oct 22

11:55 USAF Hercules lands at Shannon heading 060.
Taxis over by cargo terminal, parks behind DHL and Channel Express.

Reg of plane is MN 1007 appears to be from AF 96 Squadron. appears to have extra fuel tanks between no 1 & 2 engine and no 3& 4 engine.

Didn't get great visual on squadron patch, but would recognise it again.

FBO van makes several trips to collect large number of uniformed troops.

plane refuels and takes off heading 060 at 13:35

other recent interesting visitors (not counting the boring white WORLD planes)

WORLD painted as Aer Lingus (N272WA)

US NAVY C-9 from 'Conquistadore' Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VR 57) based at the NAS (Naval Air Station) North Island San, Diego, California.

US Navy C-20G from VR-48

and a few planes that decided it was a good idea to land without lights.

Come see for yourself, day and night at Shannon WARport, Shannon, Co. Clare.

Well, the website has been neglected alright.
Eoin has had three court cases on the hop.

Crown v Dubsky (for a Faslane action)

DPP V Dubsky (for painting the US Special Forces Hercules)

Dubsky v the State. (trying to stop the use of Shannon)

Plus he's doing work for Coastwatch.

I'm doing the planespotting, as well as continuing stuff about Sellafield and a few other things.
If I get access to the website I'll put stuff on it.
Eoin has just put on some new stuff on the web, there's some more we want up when we get time.

What we need is more people/ support / people making frequent complaints to Bertie and Cowen.
a handful will do sod all, but a few dozen a week will set off a few bells.
