One can only ask themselves is Fianna Fail and their fellow criminals in government patting themselves on the back right now for a campaign of what can only be called political terrorism, my answer to this would be; of course they are. Of course all is not lost, it is after all only six constituencies that have been counted, will the rest of the country throw a spanner in the works? |

This will give some confidence to the governemnt parties, however this confidence will be very short lived. They will continue to implement their savage cut backs ordinary working people will continue to oppose these cuts. They now have the legal framework for increased privitisations but this does not mean they will be able to implement it. We should organise now, point out the true nature of this government and mobilise to defeat the neo liberal aganda. Berties problems are not over, they are only beginning.
"It's a fantastic day for Irish politics. This electorate here is one of the most sophisticated in the world," - Noel Despsey (FF)
We're the most sophisticated electorate when it suits you. Were we not sophisticated the last time.
"I think the people were better informed and I think that certainly was the crucial difference between this and the last occasion." - Mary Harney (PD)
Better informed = voting the right way after swallowing all the 'yes' propaganda. People were not more or less informed than the last time in my opinion.
Thank you Ireland. Poland love YOU!!!!!!
We were less imformed this time as the referendum commission was allowed to give both the yes and no sides of the arguaments the first referendum, but not this time. No wonder 'luka loves the type of 'state broadcasting' that was used to inform people during Nice, it probally reminded him of the 'state broadcasting' from not so long ago in Poland.
The extreme neo-liberal agenda and other changes brought about
by the NICE treaty will ensure that when Poland joins it will not
be as an equal partner.
I hear that there are around 3 to 4 million farmers in Poland, with
an average holding of 4 or 5 acres, and most of the food grown on these
farms happens to be in a very organic nature -i.e not much use of artificial
fertilisers and insecticides and other chemicals. The so called 'free' market
will result in probably up to 75% of farmers leaving the land, to form a massive
cheap labour force that will be exploited. The average farm size will start to
grow dramatically and alongside industrial and destructive intensive farming with
all of it's negative consequences for the environment, animal welfare and of course
food quality and safety will follow.
What remains of your social welfare systems will be completely turned over to the
private sector. Your politicians will hail about the progress and benefits but
what lies ahead certainly will not be good for the vast majority of Polish people.
Two workers crushed to death at fruit farm
Andrew Clennell
Monday October 21, 2002
The Guardian
Two Polish fruit farm workers were crushed to death after falling into a twine-winding machine on a strawberry field at the farm they were working on near Reading, Berkshire.
The men, aged 21 and 27, were discovered just before 8pm on Saturday by fellow workers who had gone to look for them after becoming concerned about their welfare.
Paramedics and police were called to the Loddon Park farm at Twyford, headquarters of Rocks Country Wines where organic fruit cordials and wines are made, but were unable to save the men.
With both men found trapped inside the machine, one theory was that one worker fell in and his friend died after being dragged into the tractor-driven winder while trying to pull his friend free.
The strawberry grower at the farm, Mark Hall, last night described the men as well respected. "We are in deep shock about what happened. The whole business is in turmoil. We knew them very well and they were good people."
A colleague who asked not to be named said: "They found the two guys trapped inside the machine. It was a ghastly sight. They realised that there was nothing that could be done to save them."
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley police said the two men's relatives had not yet been contacted and so their names had not been released.
Health and safety executive officials were investigating the cause of the deaths .
This is a time of joy for those of us who have fought you nationalists and your fake leftie hangers on. You and your littel Ireland movement has been beaten. Your program against Nice was a reactionary one, especially the Anarchists. Hah! National Libertarians. NA NA NA NA!!!! NA NA NA NA!!!!
why does ray not take this ( king Mob) fool off, instead of taking down articles of some possible value?
For a start the comment by the "King Mob fool" is harder to remove than an article. Second, King Mob is entitled to express his idiocy as long as it doesn't slander anyone else. Third Ray is but one man expressing his opinion about what _ought_ to be removed. He probably doesn't remove 90% of the crap that's in clear violation of the IMC guidelines. If you want to become more involved in the process of adminstering IMC Ireland then contact them by the GET INVOLVED link to your left. They need more people. You will not be able to remove "King Mob"'s posts without discussion and group decision though.
