Selfish right-wing Paddies must vote Yes or noone will love them

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday October 18, 2002 23:13author by Phuq Hedd Report this post to the editors

Polly Toynbee in The Guardian lays one on the selfish Micks

"The no campaign, led by Sinn Fein and the Greens, springs from the same British rightwing xenophobia that sets sovereignty above progressive international cooperation"!!

An incredible article which is flabbergastingly ignorant and patronising. Ends up calling for the EU to model itself after the US (god help us!). Use a mixture of threats (no one will love us) and lies (Nice will be good for jobs) to cajole us into voting away our democratic franchise. I can't believe that she's paid by the newspaper to publish this drivel.

Article claims that there is no plan B ( a lie refuted several times already). Claims that SF and Greens are rightwing xenophobes (another lie), ignores the fact that democracy is being stripped from Europeans by this vote. Doesn't mention that NO OTHER COUNTRY has had a referendum on the Nice Treaty!!! Ignores the fact that we've ALREADY VOTED on this. Claims that our WW2 stance will be examined if we vote No!.

we are being led down the garden path into nato and the euro empire's army, by lying politicans and corrupt trade union bosses and the bishops. Lets hope the poeple refuse to be bullied into changing their minds or you english luvvies will have more stupid Irish jokes to laugh about.

She's fucking right. You Irish really are too stupid to realise it. You're being lead down the path by right wing elements. I suppose that's nothing new. You all supported the fucking IRA while they were blowing up my people. Decent fucking people as well. Irish wankers. Fuck off and die!!!

Editor of Magill had a Guardian piece early last week that said that said the Irish were children.

Editorials of The Independent have been very biased.

green block thinking?
surprising she didn´t include the muslims as well.
Polly is a "hack journalist" and The Guardian certainly is the major leftwing newspaper in Britain only the Morning Star with a much smaller distribution rivals it for reportage of global affairs from a "leftwing" or "liberal" slant, however it has uniformally been "anti-Irish" since its "manchester guardian" days.
Strange but true.

Let us all relax after all this by writing letters to hacks of our choice.
I suggest a list of the ten top hack journalists´ emails be dropped here next week.
It will destract from the "post-mortem" "you didn´t do enough" posts which I can already sense coming from the red block.
And the Green party where are you?
Has Comhaontas Glas the first party in IReland to organise itself to "anarcho-syndicalist" principles of "non-leadership" oh way back in the eighties/early nineties gone away?
I hope not they are valued team members in Ireland as everywhere else, except of course when they vote for WAR in Germany. Very disappointed with that one.
:-)

With stuff like this being put out by leftwing newspapers its no wonder that the Yes campaign is doing so well. I notice that toynbee has an email address at the bottom of the story. I'm going to give her a wake up call.

Can't wait to see how the Greens react to being lumped with Sinn Fein as British rightwing xenophobes!
