the u.v.f has been murdering working class catholics for the past 30 yrs - they are clearly not involved in the same scale of uda violence against catholics , but no catholic in their right mind thinks they are now safe from the the u.v.f. the UVF have been involved in violence in the past, like the IRA/INLA etc, but we are in times of peace now, and like the IRA the UVF have not broken their ceasefire, the attack in ballycastle was claimed by the LVF, john Reid's proteges.

We have a right to rearm ourselves NOT for a sectarian war against our working class catholic neighbours, but to DEFEND OURSELVES AND OUR ORGANISATION FROM ATTACK BY THE LVF/johnny adair, john reid and brit governments proteges.

This is why the Brit government has been clamping down on the UVF, but allowing the likes of their protege Johnny adair and his LVF pals to run about with guns armed to the teeth and shoot up the Rex bar on the shankil, and cold bloodedly murder protestants Richard Jameson and Sam Rock and recently Gavin Brett.

clodagh is being idiotic in thinking that the UVF have not been involved in sectarianism. They are also not socialist. Look at East Belfast or the attempted mass killing in Ballycastle last year. Also just recently two of their members were jailed for procuring terroroist arsenal. Read the history of the u.vf-they have been involved in ghastly sectarian killings. To believe that they are now somewhat transformed characters shows just how naive and gullible clodagh is.

the UVF/PUP have not been involved in any sectarian violence, they have not instigated sectarian attacks, against the working class catholic community, they are socialist. The UFF/LVF on the other hand, particularly John Reid's protege neo nazi LVF lover Johnny Adair, and his Cluan place mates, are behind sectarian attacks in east/north belfast and also behind the sectarian murders of Gerard Lawlor, Daniel mcColgan, Marty o Hagan, and also the murder of protestant Gavin Brett etc. The British/old boy unionist state, has been clamping down on the UVF and republicans, whilst allowing the likes of Johnny Adair and his LVF cohorts to get away with murder, not routine paramilitary punishment beatings, but cold blooded sectarian and political assasination. that is the difference between community justice, which only results in a punishment beating and COLD BLOODED SECTARIAN/POLITICAL MURDER, there has been no murders by UVF or republican paramilitaries for the past 2 years, yet still today, the LVF and John Reids's protege's are allowed to engage in political murder. Thank god the east belfast UDA have realised what John Reid's protege Johnny adair and his LVF cluan place pals were up to.

Loads of reliable sources, as well as the media, have reported UVF involvement in sectarian attacks - particularly in East Belfast and Antrim. Indeed they do not appear to be overtly involved in such attacks in West Belfast, but they are in other places.
If you think they are 'socialist' you are sadly deluded. Ervine and Hutchinson make the odd vaguely leftish statements, that does NOT mean the UVF are 'socialist'.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am far from a fan of Sinn Féin. However this is clearly a politically motivated attack by the state on Sinn Féin.

I think that is questionable that any police officer or any officer of the state should be allowed interfere with the documents etc. of elected people. In the Irish constitution, and most democratic states, the papers and documents of elected people (MPs, TDs, etc) are privileged.
