Remember International Car Free Day 2001
CFD/RTS 2001 ended in a sit-down protest on O’Connell St in which 8 people were arrested, including one indymedia cameraman.
Tomorrows party promises to be one hell of a bash, get on ya bike or take a free bus and meet top Grafton St at 2:30pm for secret party location
Dublin Corporations efforts on Car Free Day amount to nothing more than tokenism, Yes they are doing more than last year but is that only because of all the negative press they received in 2001 CFD.
Tensions have artificially inflated by Garda press office; in a futile attempt to pre justify any police violence. Garda are systematically trying to link RTS with violence at Eupepen Summits etc While papers like the Indo run Headlines like "Garda gear up to ensure protests are trouble free" hows that for a contradiction?
RIOT SQUAD and Dog Units will be deployed, which is a move that can only raise tensions (as will the conviction of a Burlington defendant on Friday)
Garda investigation in to May 6th is reported to be nearing completion, with 5\6 officers rumored to face charges. The report which will be finished in Oct. is most likely to be no more than a smokescreen with few people really believing anything will come of the charges.
Police agents could use any violence at this party to justify extreme violence at this party and the last one. Watch out and don’t be provoked by what they are calling "a contingency plan".
Enjoy the party be careful

Why don't you go here: http://www.dublin.ie/Strategy%202012.asp

And here: http://www.luas.ie/downloads/DTOnetwork.pdf

*Nothing* being done? Not enough? But isn't RTS about *more* than traffic congestion?

If traffic flow in Dublin was perfect, RTS would still have a purpose. This perception should change.
