For anyone out there who is interested in having a personal copy of Berlusconi's Mousetrap - the Indymedia Ireland feature length documentary about the protests in Genoa in July 2001 against the G8 - a limited number of copies are now available through the following outlets: 1. www.cultureshop.org 2. Road Records, Fade Street, Dublin 2 3. The Irish Film Centre shop All proceeds go towards further distribution of the Film for screenings etc. Thanks to all those who came to the screenings in the IFC in July. Over 80 copies are now winding their way around the world and off the top of my head screenings are planned or have already taken place in Germany, UK, Austria, Norway, Sweden and Mexico. It is also available through the Kaazaa peer to peer network in compressed form. Use 'Berlusconi Mousetrap Irish Indymedia Genoa' for search. for further information on the film or for copies for screenings - [email protected] or [email protected] |

I've been lucky to have witnessed this video be shown recently at Ecotopia a few weeks ago , where 2 of the guys of Undercurrents aired it .
It's probably one of the most shocking of the things i've ever seen , very disturbing indeed , but i feel somehow that the fact that this video exists and you see what really went on , ( police violence , blood and hidden agendas ) brings the slighest amount of justice to that suffering .
Probably the main reason I'll be getting this video is that i feel you could show it to absolutly anybody , friends or even mom and dad who may disagree to your activist life , and provide an instant wake up call to the hidden realities and brutal violent injustices of today .I believe just about anyone would be moved by this video emotionally and politicly .
I'd love to sit in the same room with the G8 and watch it with THERE commentry . Fact is they don't want this video out there , as seen in the actual video as the Italian police beat people , stealing footage and smashing computers , and arresting people for simply documenting .
Eamon from Undercurrents stated that the video is free to be copied and freely distributed . I may even hand random copies out on the streets , as i really do feel it is a case of spreading the word ... not just of the G8 protests , but the truth .
I was in GENOA, this is THE Movie......
well done to all involved, a sure classic.
