Carrickmines update - Monday Night - no panic about Workmen

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday September 09, 2002 22:55author by Blisset (slight return) Report this post to the editors

Spoke to Rudhan on the phone

Rudhan told me there is no panic being caused by workmen who have begun building a fence aroud the site. Only harm is the waste of taxpayers money. who agrees with the aims of the Occupation to come down and get involved - even day trips and new faces help with morale.

Another 'famous' sympathetic visitor appeared not so long ago - Fiona O'Malley - newly elected TD keeping in with the 'youth' no doubt. Hopefully she'll sign the petition next visit.

Ruadhan did express concern that numbers on the ground there are thinning and encouraged anyone who agrees with the aims of the Occupation to come down and get involved - even day trips and new faces help with morale. Those who have the time to come and stay for a few days and nights would be most welcome. Plenty of room for campers and there is running water!

They are trying down there to work out a long term strategy in case the threat to the integrity of the site is not removed quickly. They have had no recent communications with the relevant Government Minister.

The local people have been good to those there and even off duty guards from the area have come down and brought their nippers and expressed their support.

Rudhan did stress the guidelines they are keeping up with respect to drugs and alcohol on the site - ie keep 'em off the site. No excuses should be given to the 'forces of order' to intervene in the occupation.

Blisset blew his brains out in a cubicle in Connolly Station after Pat C called him Indymedia's Fuhrer. Plastic surgeons and the CIA discovered they had the technology to rebuild him faster, harder, stronger. Smuggled out of the country with a fake passport bearing the name "Oswald Defence Lawyer", Steve Austin is now..
