Concerts for Carrickmines Castle![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 'We will stay here as long as it takes' There will be a series of three concerts at the Templebar Music Centre, to highlight the importance of preservation efforts for Carrickmines Castle, in South Dublin, which is about to be partially destroyed to make way for the M50 motorway. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Carrickmines Castle preservation fund. Held, on September 5, 14, and 20, they will be hosted by Rónán Ó Snodaigh, front man of Kila, and formerly of Dead Can Dance. Special guests will include other Kila members Dee, Colm and Eoin; also Liam O'Maonlai of the Hothouse Flowers, Clann Zú (from Australia) Ursula Byrnes, Liam Malone, Claire Bonass and many more. There will also be a video/graphic presentation during the music of images of the castle site, and other sites in across Ireland that were lost to development.
