The other Sep 11th

Remember ALL victims…
11th September
On 11 September 1973 the US was behind a brutal military coup in Chile that overthrew the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende. The subsequent US-backed dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet led to the deaths, ‘disappearance’ and torture of tens of thousands of people.

While we remember the victims of 11 Sept. 2001 in New York and Washington, let's not forget the tens of thousands of Chileans who were killed as a result of the US-backed military coup of 11 September 1973 and other acts of US state terrorism.

Afghanistan: pushing the UN to one side the US continues to bomb innocent people killing more civilians than died in the twin towers.
Colombia: US continues huge military aid to the Colombian regime under Plan Colombia. Atrocities against civilians attributed to state-supported paramilitaries mount. In 2002 to date 124 trade union activists of the Central Workers Union have been assassinated or ‘disappeared’.
Palestine: the US continues to support war criminal Ariel Sharon and to bankroll Israel as its illegal occupation of Palestine carries on.
Iraq: having killed an estimated 200,000 people in the first ‘Gulf War’ the US wants to start a second. (the US won’t mention oil or that it strongly supported Saddam Hussein during his worst atrocities)
Venezuela: US suspected of being behind the failed coup attempt against the democratically elected government of Hugo Chávez.
Outer space: seemingly not content with having troops in over 100 countries on earth, the US pushes ahead with its missile ‘defence’ shield – i.e. the militarisation of space.

The US: the world’s leading terrorist state….
George Bush: the world's leading terrorist….
