The problem is there was no indication what the link was about.
If you'd written a paragraph about a major anti-war demonstration coming up soon, suggested that people try to make it, and _then_ added the link, that would have been good.

I think that Ray is right to consistantly comment on postings like this one that are outside the guidelines.

The quality of the reporting is what attracts people to the site. On the other hand, nternational spam, links, swipes at the SWP and the rest just deters people. That's what bulleting boards such as Forum ireland ( www.forumireland.com ) are for.

Quality independent reporting is a very, very valuable thing - that's the signal. Lets encourage it and try to reduce the noise.

People are getting attacked here for cut and pasting, and then for just giving a link. Could i suggest a proposed guideline is sent to [email protected] on what a post should consist of. We'll try and get a guideline up on the site.
