Tel Aviv sur Seine/Promotion of bloody Israeli occupation of Palestine

category international | rights, freedoms and repression | opinion/analysis author Saturday August 15, 2015 22:32author by Astrid Essed Report this post to the editors

Tel Aviv sur Seine promotes warcrimes and oppression of the Israeli occupation

Recently, due to a joint cooperation of the Tel Aviv and Paris municipal government, a section of river bank in Paris was
turned into “Tel Aviv sur Seine” , complete with falafel stands
and “Israeli nightlife. Of course in order to promote Israel. No promotion of a 48 years occupation power with as ´´falafel´´
the Gaza Blockade and as ´´nightlife´´bombings of Gaza and shooting of Palestinian children. On the Gaza beach.

TEL AVIV SUR SEINE/PROMOTION
OF THE BLOODY ISRAELI OCCUPATION OF PALESTINE

SEE ALSO

http://www.astridessed.nl/boycot-israel-tel-aviv-sur-se...rael/

The shamelessness of some initiatives to promote the Israeli
occupation power knows no limits.
The following is nearly hilaric, were t not so horrible
Recently (at 13th august), a joint project of the Paris and
Tel Aviv municipal governments, organised ´´Tel Aviv
Sur Seine´´
For a few hours on 13 August, a section of river bank in the French capital near the Pont d’Arcole will be turned into “Tel Aviv sur Seine” (Tel Aviv on the Seine), complete with falafel stands and “Israeli nightlife.” ¨(1)
Isn´t it cosy.

Tel Aviv sur Seine will be held at ´´Paris Plage´´
, a simulated beach the city sets up in the summer. (2)
Lionel Choukroun, director of Agence Culturelle, the company that is producing the event, says the idea is “to give Parisians and tourists the Tel Aviv experience without having to go anywhere.” (3)

What a gotspe.
Does he tells the Parisians about the way, Ethopian
Jews are treated in ´´tolerant´´ Tel Aviv. (4)
I doubt it.

THE CRIME OF THE ISRAELI OCCUPATION

But there is more.
Much more.
Tel Aviv is an important city of Israel, the 48 years
occupation power in the Palestinian territories
the Westbank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, (5) despite
UN Security Resolution 242 (dd 1967) summoning
Israel to withdraw from all conquered territories
during the june war (1967), including the Palestinian.
48 years of oppression, human rights violations,
warcrimes and crimes against humanity. (6)
And moreover
The existence, since the end of 1960, of Isreli settlements
in occupied Palestinian territories, which are
illegal according to International Law. (7)
The illegal Israeli Wall through occupied
Palestinian territories (8), violating the rights
of the Palestinian people. (9)

And then, in general, the deadly violent crimes
of the Israeli army, as Amnesty International
described in its report from 2014 ´´Trigger happy/Israel´s
use of excessive force in the Westbank´´ (10)

GAZA MILITARY OPERATIONS

Israel has launched a number of military
operations in Gaza with numerous warcrimes,
causing thousands of Palestinian victims.
In 2008/2009 there was Operation Cast Lead. (11)
1,391 Palestinians were killed, more than 5,300 Palestinians were wounded, 350 of them seriously. Israel also caused enormous damage to residential dwellings, industrial buildings, agriculture and infrastructure for electricity, sanitation, water, and health.
According to UN figures, Israel destroyed more than 3,500 residential dwellings and 20,000 people were left homeless.(12)

Westbank
Whoever thinks that the violence after Cast Lead was over,
is mistaken.
The Israeli human rights organisation Btselem mentions
many fatalities after Cast Lead. (13)

OPERATION ´´PROTECTIVE EDGE´´

Israeli military operation ´´Protective
Edge´´ last year 2014, was another humanitarian
disaster.
More than 2,200 Palestinians were killed, including hundreds of children. About 18,000 homes were destroyed or badly damaged and more than 100,000 Palestinians were rendered homeless. (14)
disas
Schools and hospitals were attacked. (15)
See the bloodstaining comment of the Norwegian
physician Mads Gilbert, working years and years
in Gaza on voluntarily basis. (16)
A great human rights worker.

MEANWHILE, ON THE BEACH.......

The meaning of ´´Tel Aviv sur Seine´´ is promoting
Israel and Tel Aviv, enjoying a holiday there
and giving Parisians the ´´holiday feeling´´
eating falafels and enjoying Israeli nightlife. (17)

But how ´´enjoyable´´ is the life of the
occupied civilian population in Gaza.
Well, their ´´nightlife´´ are Israeli
bombings and shootings.
And ´´enjoying the beach´´ means
death and destruction.
Last year, on 16 july, four Palestinian children were
killed by Israeli missile attacks, in the neighbourhood
of ´´ brightly coloured beach tents, used by bathers in peacetime.´´(18)
At last, Israel cleared itself from culpability,
calling it a ´´tragic accident´´.........(19)
That´s the way their own warcrimes are mentioned by
the Israeli occupation power.....

That´s the Gazan ´´holiday to the beach.......´´

´´TEL AVIV SUR SEINE´´

You must have gotspe and guts, organising
´´Tel Aviv sur Seine´´ against the background of
the continuing crimes of the Israeli
occupation power. (20)
Therefore the protests against this promoting
of the bloody Israeli occupation power were
very welcome. (21)

The protests against the Israeli occupator
and its financial and political sponsors
will go on untill the occupation
is ended, the illegal settlements are dismantled,
the Israeli Wall is broken to the ground and
the Palestinian right to return is acknowledged. (22)

GAZA STILL OCCUPIED TERRITORY

´´“Under international law, the test for determining whether an occupation exists is effective control by a hostile army, not the positioning of troops,” Whitson said. “Whether the Israeli army is inside Gaza or redeployed around its periphery and restricting entrance and exit, it remains in control.”

HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH
ISRAEL/´´DISENGAGEMENT´´ WILL NOT END GAZA OCCUPATION

http://www.hrw.org/news/2004/10/28/israel-disengagement...ation

Israel maintains effective control over Gaza, controlling all but one of the crossings into the Gaza Strip, the airspace, territorial waters, telecommunications and the population registry which determines who is allowed to leave or enter Gaza. Therefore, Israel is still considered the occupying power and is responsible for the welfare of the inhabitants in the strip under international humanitarian law.

´´Construction of the Barrier has imposed new restrictions on movement for Palestinians living near its route, in addition to the sweeping restrictions in force since the outbreak of the second intifada. Thousands of Palestinians have difficulty reaching their fields and marketing their produce to other areas of the West Bank. The areas west of the Separation Barrier are among the most fertile in the West Bank. According to the World Bank, the agriculture there generates 8 percent of overall Palestinian agricultural production. The damage to the agricultural sector means that Palestinian farmers cannot get supplementary income and makes it impossible to increase the number of workers in what is the primary sector of Palestinian economy.

The restrictions on freedom of movement also limit the access of Palestinian villagers to hospitals in nearby towns; the educational system suffers because many schools, primarily village schools, depend on teachers who live outside the community and must commute to the school; also family ties and social connections are adversely affected.

TEL AVIV SUR SEINE/PROMOTION
OF THE BLOODY ISRAELI OCCUPATION OF PALESTINE
It´s a shame and disgrace, that the municipal government of Paris
(having a cooperation tie with Tel Aviv) gives its
approval with this ´´Tel Aviv Sur Seine´´ happening.
This cosy event ´´complete with falafel and Israeli nightlife´´
hides the horrible facts about occupation power Israel, not only
oppressing the Palestinian territories since 1967, with inherent
serious human rights violations, warcrimes and crimes against
humanity (Blockade on Gaza), as the water and land robbery
in the form of illegal settlements.
It also implies bloody neo colonial military operations as last
year the Gaza ´´Protective Edge´´.
More than 2,200 Palestinians were killed, including hundreds of children. About 18,000 homes were destroyed or badly damaged and more than 100,000 Palestinians were rendered homeless.
Those victims can´t enjoy the beach ´´complete with falafel and nightlife´´
Their children are MURDERED at the beach, as happened with four
Palestinian children, just playing at the Gaza beach, who were shot
at the Gaza beach last year.....
Good night, mayor Hidalgo. Thanks for promoting the bloody
Israeli occupation.
