Screening of Local short films and Irish language short films

Venue: Seery’s, Daingean.
Date: Wednesday 27th July.

Award winning short film for screening in Daingean.

An award winning short film is programmed as part of a Local Filmmakers Showcase in Daingean Festival later in the month. The screening, featuring filmmakers from Offaly, Kildare and Laois is one of the events in The Daingean Festival and it will take place in Seery’s on Wednesday 27th at 9.00 pm and admission is free.

The Moment, directed by Paddy Slattery, was selected at The Mexico International Film Festival in May and went on to win Best Short at the Festival. Paddy is also the producer of a music video Moving me for the new release by Daingean singer/songwriter, Wayne Brennan. The Director will be in attendance to introduce and lead a discussion post screening [www.paddyslattery.com]. The programme opens with Return to Roscoff, directed by Ken Wardrop, whose documentary HISANDHERS is the best Irish selling documentary of all time.

The screenings start with a programme of Irish language shorts (sub-titled) Taispeántas Gearrscannáin 2011 at 7.00 pm, to be followed by The Local Filmmakers Showcase at 9.00 pm. Admission is free agus beidh fáilte roimh Gaeilge ar an óiche.
