"Golshan Al Bayati, Iraqi woman writer/Journalist and AL Hayat newspaper Correspondent (Arabic London Newspaper) In Iraq, was First arrested on 11/09/06 by Iraqi forces in the city of Tikrit. She was released after signing an undertaking on 15th Sept 06, only to be arrested again. The news from Iraq , this morning(8/10/06): it is very likely that she is currently being mistreated in detention. Golshan was re-arrested after attempting to retrieve her computer that was consfiscated during the first raid on her house by the local Iraqi security services. The Australian Minister for Communications, Helen Coonan, buoyed by her recent success in eliminating media diversity in Oz is now targeting the most diverse (content) medium on the planet – the internet. Her latest comments (news radio) veil her real intentions (information control!) The only effective means of controlling the flow of information on the internet is filtering at backbone or provider level.
