Palestinian home in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Isawiyya being bulldozed by Israelis today
international / anti-war / imperialism Tuesday July 13, 2010 - 20:14 by pat c   image 1 image
Palestinian homes are bulldozed in Occupied Al Quds but the Zionists continue build homes for the colonists. Full story at link.

Israeli bulldozers destroyed at least three Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem today, breaking an unofficial moratorium on house demolitions since the end of 2009. At least one of the homes was occupied by a family of seven, who removed their belongings shortly before the building was razed.

"They can build hundreds of settlements but I'm not entitled to live in a shack?" Linda al-Rajabi was quoted in the Israeli media as saying. ... read full story / add a comment

Bill Henderson writes about those who deny climate change and he also touchs on some other hot topics.

There are people who deny that climate change is happening, that it is caused by increasing greenhouse gases (GHG) from burning fossil fuels, or that it is potentially so serious as to be civilization even humanity threatening. There are worldview and monetary reasons for such denial, but since 97 percent to 98 percent of the climate researchers most actively publishing in the field support the tenet that combustion of fossil fuels is the source of global climate change their denial costs valuable time now but is ultimately untenable. ... read full story / add a comment

Yet another report has cleared scientists at the University of East Anglia’s (UEA) Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of dishonesty in the presentation of data on global warming. However it has stated that: “We do find that there has been a consistent pattern of failing to display the proper degree of openness, both on the part of CRU scientists and on the part of the UEA.”

But the inquiry found that the scientists “honesty and rigour” were “not in doubt” and there was “no evidence” of behaviour that would undermine assessments by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). ... read full story / add a comment

In 1990, America’s President George H. W. Bush awarded William C. Rogers III, the Legion of Merit for his service as a commanding officer in the US navy. Two years previously Rogers had been the commander of the USS Vincennes when the warship shot down an Iranian civilian aircraft over the Persian Gulf killing all 290 people aboard . On the twenty-second anniversary of the atrocity last Saturday, relatives of the victims sailed to the spot where Iran Air A300 Airbus came down. In a message read out at the ceremony, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad asked :
"In which culture ... can that Legion of Merit be awarded to the criminal USS Vincennes commander." ... read full story / add a comment

Abu Daoud is dead but his memory lives on in the struggle for a free Palestine.
