The long awaited Puppy farming Bill now being added to our Irish animal protection legislation is a much-needed and vital piece of legislation. We have all seen the results of the SPCA raids on dog breeding farms throughout Ireland. Dogs living in horrendous conditions in their own excrement with improper nourishment , housing and no veterinary care. So many having to be euthanized , their suffering so severe. What person in their right mind would object to allowing Gardai and animal protection groups more access and powers to punish the offenders who perpetrate crimes against defenceless pups and dogs. ... read full story / add a comment

A series of features examining the background to the creation and development of mutant space.ie, an alternative Irish arts resource. The resource is set up to function as a co-op that works on the gift economy principle. In other words rather than use money in exchange for resources members use their own skills and resources as an alternative form of economic exchange.
